Rose TraceySuch wonderful photos for such an important project!7y
zoe reynoldsHey thanks Rachel, photographer and film maker extraordinaire. And yes I remember Carol's love song and ode to Clovelly on the ukulele too7y

Rachel LaneRemember there is love in Clovelly... lets keep it that way! Rachel Lane7y
zoe reynoldsThank you old colleague for your glowing tale of concreted caves - and for chipping in and helping fund the campaign. IT's been a busy week with Council resolving to finally do something as well as getting on air at the ABC this morning. SO big apology for my slow response. Hope to see you tonight after all these long, long years, fellow freelancer and neighbour.7y

Raymond PleasantOn the issue of the concreting of Clovelly Beach, I would like to add a comment from the 1970s. I remember a smaller beach ending in a paved ledge at one end. Severe storm waves in that decade reached violently to the far end, so much so that I got knocked down. That was the storm which eroded all the sand off Mackenzie's Beach just north of Bronte and only rocks remain to this day. I can't recall so much platform area even as grass.7y

Raymond PleasantGlowworms glow dimmer today in a Bundanoon glen after a concrete viewing platform was built to protect them. That side of the deep gully is now dark where I crept along virgin ground to bushes dripping with the creatures...so much so that I easily read a paperback by their light. Now it's decades since my infrequent visits to this picturesque Southern Highlands village allowed me to see the astonishing brightness at the bottom of a steep path. My most recent visit revealed a charming sparkle of glowworms on the cliff face across a tiny, bubbling brook. But they were just tiny stars now shining apart from each other. The bunches of glowing mushrooms around were fascinating too. Once upon a time, a wombat crossed my path when I ascended the path which is through its territory. Please don't scream at them like one lady did who terrified us viewers still down with the glowworms. I guess this concrete poisoning issue applies inland as well, but it's a new ecology topic for me.7y

Helen ReynoldsGreat work Zoe and great art.....love what you do. The concrete shoreline has always looked awful, and so bad environmentally. It is a big task to have it changed but very worthwhile. Good luck with the project. cheers H.7y
zoe reynoldsThank you cousin Helen for your generous support and for being such a keen supporter of this and other important environmental projects over the years. See you soon!7y
zoe reynoldsThank you swim buddy. Especially for taking the plunge in the algae slime when otherwise you would not - just to accompany me on my photo missions. A true friend!7y

Jane BullenThe photos are beautiful, Zoe! But the changes in Clovelly Bay are a real worry. I've certainly noticed the huge invasion of that slimy weed since the new cement was added. Thank you for highlighting this!7y
zoe reynoldsWow. Thank you so much Ramona. I really want to see the toddler's beach at Clovelly a place where little Lucy & Audrey can paddle with my grandkids - and, as they grow, snorkle with Bluey and all the little fish. The beach is covered in slimy algae in summer and it's getting too dangerous for kids to swim further out if there is any swell because the walls amplify the waves. There's not as many little fish any more either. I really hope we can get the council to do some studies and, ultimately, remove and modify some of the concrete to get things back the way they were. Also to get the word out that concreting foreshores is happening all around the world and wiping out whole habitat. Really appreciate you getting behind this project. Look forward to seeing you and the kids again soon.7y
