Our Stop Adani Convoy will see hundreds of vehicles converging on central Queensland where Indian billionaire Gautam Adani is forging ahead with the world’s most contentious coal mine.

The Stop Adani Convoy is our Foundation’s contribution to Australia’s biggest ever environmental protest, the campaign to Stop Adani.

“While the convoy is essentially a celebration of life on Earth, it will be no picnic. It will require a major commitment in time, money and public involvement by the otherwise ordinary Australians who are signing up to take part and supporting it along the way.” Bob Brown

Your support will ensure the Stop Adani Convoy is a great success in this age of dangerous climate change – a time when urgent action is needed.

Gautam Adani is planning one of the largest open-cut coalmines on the planet. His mine would produce millions of tonnes more carbon dioxide per annum and inject these into Earth’s already overloaded atmosphere. Adani’s mine would also open the way for six more coal mines in the Galilee Basin.

Our small Foundation is entirely reliant on public funding. Our costs for this convoy include an organising team managing the logistics of hundreds of vehicles travelling from Hobart to Central Queensland. We have employed five organisers to mobilise thousands of people at ten rallies along the route. The convoy finale will be a Rally for Climate Action outside parliament house in Canberra, in the days before the federal election.

Help us make history with a pledge to support this act of mass community defiance.

Please support this travelling protest against polluting coal mines and power stations as Australia heads towards the most environmentally contentious election since the No Dams election of 1983.

We will leave Hobart on 17th April and, via Melbourne, Albury-Wodonga, Sydney, Coffs Harbour, Mullumbimby, Brisbane, Rockhampton – Yeppoon, Airlie Beach, the Galilee Basin mine region, Toowoomba, Armidale, and Orange-Bathurst, arriving into Canberra for a Vote Climate Rally on Sunday 5th May.

“The single most threatening human-induced factor for life, short of nuclear war or pandemics, is global warming. No acre on Earth is escaping it. Whether you look at the recent fires in Tasmania and mainland Australia, floods in Townsville or fish deaths on the Darling River, a hotter biosphere behind them all. Global warming is the outcome of burning coal, oil, gas and forests.”  Bob Brown

We have an obligation to stop global warming if we are to hand on a liveable planet and secure future to our children.

As we convoy from southern Tasmania to central Queensland, politicians will be in Federal Election campaign mode. One of our major aims of the convoy will be to keep climate and the environment on the agenda for this election and in the forefront of voters’ minds.

Budget Overview

This is a vast operation in scope and cost.
