We are in an extinction crisis.  

Some of Australia's most unique and cherished animals are at risk of being wiped off the face of the Earth as government-sanctioned logging, mining, and industrial developments destroy the homes they need to survive.

Without action today, the last koala in NSW could be lost in our lifetime. 

Our children may never hear the distinct, chattering calls of Swift Parrots. 

And the Maugean Skate, an animal as old as the dinosaurs, could be driven into oblivion like the Thylacine.

Our campaign

Our Action to Stop Extinction campaign combines frontline action with powerful legal interventions and groundbreaking science. 

With the generous support of people like you, we have already had some massive wins for threatened wildlife, including:

✊ forcing Forestry Tasmania to abandon plans to log 100 hectares of Swift Parrot habitat with our Supreme Court case

✊ initiating a federal review into salmon farming in Macquarie Harbour where this industry is driving the Maugean Skate to extinction

✊ saving hundreds of hectares of Takayna's ancient forests, vital for Masked Owls, Tasmanian Devils and Spotted-tail Quolls, from logging, thanks to the defiant, frontline actions of hundreds of forest defenders

But as the fate of some of Australia's most iconic species hangs in the balance, we must ramp up our efforts to ensure that koalas, Swift Parrots, and other endangered animals are not lost forever. 

Your pledge today will power direct action on the oceans in our new high-speed boat to protect the Maugean Skate from extinction-causing industrial fish farms. 

We’ll take peaceful, direct action to halt the destruction of the forests that Masked Owls and critically endangered Swift Parrots need to survive. 

We'll also bring our campaigns to end native forest logging and protect Takayna to the national stage with more nationwide mobilisations in 2025 and film screenings of our new documentary 'Takayna — The Heart of Lutruwita'. 

In the last 50 years, three-quarters of Earth’s wildlife has been wiped out by human activity.

• providing legal representation to courageous activists. We are committed to offering legal support to every person arrested during our peaceful protests. 
• purchasing equipment and resources for our 'Summer of Swifties' citizen science initiative to document Swift Parrots in forests under threat from logging. Evidence from these surveys is used to halt the destruction through the courts. 
• launching nationwide screenings of our new film Takayna — The Heart of Lutruwita, showcasing our fight to protect Takayna. 
• helping to drive our next nationwide mobilisation, March in March for Forests, before the federal election.
