Our Story

In mid 2016, a few blokes fed up with the humdrum of daily life went on a ski trip, drank a bunch of beer and planted the seed of what would eventually become South Coast Brewing Co.

The allure of having a brewing shed tucked away in the Fleurieu proved irresistible. A year later, a lightbulb moment between mates occurred while knocking back a cold one on Queensland’s Mission Beach and an idea sprouted into a plan.

With winemaker Scott Zrna and engineer Mark Sorrell on board, a third compadre was needed for the plan to reach fruition. Brett Doonan, a local sales rep for a booze distributor was contacted and after an arduous ten seconds of convincing, agreed to join in the festivities and the South Coast team was formed.

From there, a shed was found in Willunga in late 2017. Through collaboration from friends and family, an empty shell quickly became the microbrewery we have today - a relaxed space for people of every walk of life to congregate while sipping on a fresh craft brew.

Our Mission

South Coast Brewing Co. is a small, independent brewery located in Willunga, South Australia. From Marino to the Murray Mouth, our beers are brewed as an homage to some of the finest coastline this country has to offer.

We don’t set out to make the boldest of brewskis, the hoppiest of froths or the maltiest of God’s nectar – we simply make beers to be enjoyed by everyone from the casual consumer to the hardest nosed beverage boffin.

Our Plan

With our taphouse pretty well sorted, we're ready to expand our operation to bigger and better things. 

We need your help to purchase a bottling line. This will enable us to get more product out faster - meaning our beers will be more readily available in bars and bottle shops near you. Hand bottling is incredibly time consuming; having our own bottling line will allow us more time to put into brainstorming tasty new recipes for you to try!

Legalities

It is against the law to sell or supply alcohol to, or to obtain alcohol on behalf of, a person under the age of 18 years.

All deliveries must be received and signed for by a person over the age of 18 years. We cannot accept PO boxes.

Most bottling lines capable of producing decent output cost anywhere from $15,000 - $25,000, so you will be greatly helping our cause!
