Hello!  My name is Luke Yeoward. I am a singer, songwriter, guitarist and music producer living in Melbourne, Australia. I am also husband to Sarah and father to my beautiful daughter Siggy, with another one on the way Xmas 2016! I fell in love with music from a very young age and taught myself to play on my Mums old acoustic guitar back in New Zealand. My journey began as a street performer at just 10 years old and the musical river flowed through my teens and twenties, carving its way through several different genres, bands and countries. Music has given me experiences I never thought I’d have, taken me to places I never dreamed I'd go and introduced me to people I never thought I'd meet. I am extremely greatful for this gift.

I spent my formative years in New Zealand playing in punk rock bands. In early 2006, my band Suicide Dogs released their debut album; Breakin' Away. This saw us play festivals, support our rock and roll hero's and tour the USA where we played a Hellcat Records night at Echo Parks infamous venue; The Echo. 

Suicide Dog's wick burned hot and fast, much like the music itself. Soon after it burned out, the King Cannons candle was lit in late 2007. We moved to the UK from New Zealand in 2008, before moving to Australia in 2009. We loved not having any musical boundaries, and this positive energy lead us to sign licencing, publishing and management agreements in Australia. The years of hard work were starting to pay off. With singles on high rotation accross national radio in Australasia, we released our debut S/T EP in 2010 and our full length album The Brightest Light in 2012. We played countless festivals (Big Day Out, Bluesfest, Homegrown etc) and countless tours across Australia, New Zealand and Europe, and it was one hell of a ride! (The Living End, Bedouin Soundclash, Shihad, The Broilers etc) 

Before Siggy was born, King Cannons came to an end. Around the same time, our record label changed ownership and decided it would be best if I wasnt kept on the roster. For the first time in my musical career I was disheartened and burned out. I was released from my contracts, and I threw in the towel with music altogether. Sarah and I then decided to move back to New Zealand to be closer to our family, but unfortunately that venture didn't work either! (Whoops!). We moved back to Australia and with not a second to spare, our daughter Siggy was born! I decided I needed to be a positive father and husband. The kind that examplifies the importance of dreaming big and living your passion. So I began to write music again.

Like most artists, I've always had to work a day job. I currently work as a furniture removalist and I feel like I’ve done every blue collar job imaginable since I left school! It's always been "hand to mouth" for me, now more so than ever, as finances are pretty tight on one income. Life is pretty crazy in the Yeoward house, Sarah is usually at home with Siggy, and by the time I get home from work and help with the evening routines, It’s usually too late to make any noise, or make any music. 

Alas! I am back in full swing as an independent artist! Self managed, self promoted and self funded. It’s just me and you now. I am greatful to have new brothers in my current band 131's, but I feel that I still have more to give as a songwriter in different genres. I have the ability to use my gift and do something positive for myself and others. Music is magic, it shows us new ways of thinking and gives us greater perspective. It lets us really feel something. Music takes us to new places and introduces us to new people. It will always be there for us, music doesn't flake.

This brings me here, to this POZIBLIE campaign, and this crazy concept of crowdfunding...

I have this rad idea that I want you to be part of.  I want to write and self-record a solo album over a month in the USA. I'm going to write and record on the fly, working in hotel rooms, on friends sofa’s, in garages, squats, friends studios, out in the street, in the car, on the bus, you name it! With your funding, I can collaborate with the people I meet on my journey and make a very special record for you! A few mates of mine are to keen to work with me; Chris Cheney (The Living End) Jason Bonner (Jandisc Records, Ex Aggrolites) Dan Smith (Sharp/Shock, Ex Dear and Departed) Suzi Carmichael (Turbulent Hearts, Ex Civet) Nat Dunn, and Chris Murray to name a few! 

This album aims to take you on a journey through 10 songs I write over a month in the USA.

This album will be recorded and produced by yours truly.

This album will be mixed and mastered professionally, and given to you straight to you.

No middle men, no labels, no producers, no managers, just the freedom to make something rad that we can say we were part of.

I’ve already spent what money I had left on my credit card to buy some new recording gear, so now I just need your help with things like travel costs, rent at home, mixing, mastering, artwork and physical production etc.

• Writers block? - I doubt it! I'll be in America, the home of rock and roll!
• Data gets lost? - I'll always stash a backup hard drive!
• Sleeping on floors? - I am very used to it!
• Time alone? - More time to write great music!
• Guitar breaks? - I'll borrow one from a mate!

I am sure that like all good things, this project will have challenges, but rest assured that when I set my mind to something, I get it done! :)
