My latest album is almost complete! With the bulk of it recorded in Paris in June this year, and mixing and mastering mostly complete, this project will fund the final step in the process - physical manufacture of CDs.

The album was recorded at Studio LDC in Montreuil, Paris, after 2 weeks spent playing and practicing in the Netherlands and France.  It features one of the best rhythm sections in the Jazz Manouche world: Mathieu Chatelain and Romain Vuillemin (rhtyhm guitars), and Claudius Dupont (double bass). We recorded 9 tunes on that session - 7 original compositions, and 2 standards - with 2 more solo tunes recorded back in Australia.  The music is sounding great - everything I'd hoped for!

And so we find ourselves at the pointy end of things.  This project is setup as a pre-sale.  If you would like a physical copy of the CD to be produced, this is the time to sign on.  The album will be released digitally as well, but physical copies will be dependant on you. It will be a well produced Digipak, with original artwork, delivered straight to your home.

Final production will be finished no later than November 2016, and the album will ship as soon as I get the CDs.

All funds will go directly towards the costs of CD manufacture.  Up until now, I have financed the album myself.  The studio time, engineering, musicians fees, mixing and mastering cost have all been covered. All that is left is to commission artwork and layout, and to actually print the CDs themselves.  Any additional funds will be put towards clawing the album towards the hopefully not entirely unatainable goal of eventual profit.

Printing of 500 CDs in Digipaks will cost around $1350.  This is what I'm looking to cover with this project.  If the project gets funded, it will be an indication that there is interest in physical copies of CDs, and I will put in whatever extra money is needed to get the manufacture over the line if that is necessary.  

This is going to be a great album!

The main challenge here is going to be generating the money.  The musical and production work is mostly done.  I have recorded 1 solo tune, and have one more to do to finish the 11 tracks which will make up the album. I am still to comission some artwork for the cover, but otherwise everything is on course.
