2016 Album "Sorrow and Splendour"

My name is Jason Lowe, and I am a 27 year old Singer Songwriter and Visual Artist from Newcastle, NSW, Australia.

This new album of mine "Sorrow and Splendour" will be my fourth studio release since I first began writing, performing, and recording music in 2007.

Over a period of four years of writing, half of which I spent living abroad touring the west coast of Canada, these works were born from a long meditation on what to me are the two great mysteries; life and love.

This album is a culmination of my experiences and learnings from what was the most difficult phase of my life journey so far.

I am so deeply thrilled to share them with you all as I feel that this album represents a pivotal point in time for me and my creative evolution.  

The album features 14 new songs with instrumentation of acoustic and electric guitars, lapslide guitar, piano, string arrangements and vocals. The album artwork will also feature some of my own paintings, similar to the ones you can see here.

I am greatly honoured to be working along side two very dear friends of mine to record this album in a sensational place, a newly built studio set amongst a tranquil, lush, and spectacular expanse of land in the divine surrounds of Bellingen, NSW. 

A true paradise to me.

This song below 'The Sea of Home' was played in Melbourne for Sofar Sounds in February 2016 and will be included on the album.

Your donations will go directly towards the costs of the recording:

I have calculated the over all costs to be much closer to $7000 rather than my allocated goal of $5000, but I felt it better to aim lower just in case the total was unable to be reached whereby all the funding will then be lost.
