True Story

Almost exactly 3 years ago there was a fancy breakfast in Wagga. Apparently, I was to busy stuffing my face to say hello to people and when a fresh-faced, shiny new entrepreneur Di Somerville introduced herself to me, I ignored her. (dying!)

A few weeks later, Di was talking to someone about how she needed to get her "startup" off the farm and into town, and Peita suggested she pop into Working Spaces HQ (well it didn't exist yet) so Di did. Thanks, Peita!

Instantly we hit it off, and as they say, the rest is history.

In three short years, Working Spaces HQ has grown and evolved - even moving premises and now has a waitlist! Di has gone on to do some pretty epic things - Regional Pitchfest, 8point8 and I have had the pleasure of sitting on the sideline, cheering Di along and enjoying her wild ride.

TL;DR - We are opening a Hubb Hubb and we are raising 10k startup/runway capital

With a love for regional Australia, entrepreneurship, innovation, startups and goats it just made sense that we join forces, alone we can do great things, but together, well the sky really is the limit. But Working Spaces HQ is full and there is no room to swing a umm goat ... so we decided to get another building #ta-daaaaa

Hello Hubb Hubb - Mixing bricks and clicks we will be creating a world leading regional epicentre for entrepreneurship, but we need your help. We need to raise $10,100 startup capital to get Hubb Hubb off the ground, from $3 to $2.5k we hope to use this campaign to not only raise these funds but to spread the word of Hubb Hubb, go on say it out loud. Hubb Hubb.

Our good mate Mitch often says "You just need to provide the kindle and the community will provide the spark" That is what we are asking our local and global community to do, with supporting our campaign, Hubb Hubb can get off to the right start it needs, and be the true community asset we want it to be.

Seriously ... You can find Hubb Hubb at 20 Fitzmaurice Street Wagga Wagga NSW. Opening July 2018 - Hubb Hubb will be the epicentre of entrepreneurial and startup activity in Wagga Wagga - The Riverina and across the globe. Mixing our bricks with clicks, Hubb Hubb will also have a global digital reach with all activities, events and workshops broadcast live or online to our greater community.

Hubb Hubb has an aim to create #100startups by 2020 and we know with this dedicated site, we will accelerate the growth and opportunities for our local startups to start, and reach global markets.

My why = accelerate business in rural and regional Australia.

I am passionate about regional Australia and wholeheartedly believe regional communities can drive innovation and create opportunities outside metropolitan areas.

My businesses provide platforms, programs and services to assist in bridging the gap between the cities and the regions and have a major focus on highlighting regional talent and agriculture.

I am excited by the opportunity for growth I see in regional Australia and am thrilled to be a small part of it.

My expertise is in startups, pitching, events, defence, government leadership, human resources, contracting, corporate innovation and project management. I also am well rehearsed in spiced rum varieties and laughing-lots!

Simone Eyles

Simone wants to live in a world where technology works for you, location is irrelevant and your daily cafe goodness is celebrated (coffee, tea, croissant anyone?)

Third time lucky, Simone is the founder of shrimpa.io, Working Spaces HQ and co-founder of 365cups. Simone loves the highs and loathes the lows of the entrepreneur's roller coaster ride.

Pre-startup life Simone was a Graphic Designer living and working all across Australia. From design in a boutique ad agency, comms in a big corporate, even some time doing marketing in a government department, Simone loves to use her creative mind and tinker with tech.

We have worked together on so many projects, we co-created an incubator program and it just makes sense that we join forces. We are great friends but we are very different, look at those shoes! However, our passion for the regions and entrepreneurship is unmatched and we know together and by joining forces Hubb Hubb is the right move to bring all we do together and to take it to that next level! It has been the missing piece in a big puzzle and now we are filling that gap, for Wagga and for our region. Hubb Hubb will be a great place, where so many things happen and we can't wait to see you there!

Hubb Hubb will be part of Working Spaces HQ. Working Spaces HQ will go from one site to three sites overnight. Cowork at 48 Johnston St, semi desk at 113 Fitzmaurice Street and Hubb Hubb will be at 20 Fitzmaurice Street Wagga Wagga NSW.

RUNWAY

Most entrepreneurs spend a lot of time on runways, but not always at the airport. Rather, they're balancing cash runways, which, loosely defined, are the amount of time or money with which they can operate in the red!

TIME: We sign the lease on April 15 and we have till June 30 to be fit out and open for business! We hope to launch our first event in May which will be our Startup Crawl. We hope that with our crowdfunding campaign we can kick off the new financial year in the black and what that really means is we can employ a Community Manager at Hubb Hubb.

MONEY: We have about 2 and a half months to get Hubb Hubb ready to open, in this time we will be working extremely hard in the background and all the things Hubb Hubb will be and at this time, we will not be generating any income. With so many empty shops on the main street it is important we get Hubb Hubb right and ready to go and have whole calendar years worth of events and activities planned and ready to go when we launch in July 2018 - the money we seek are pure startup costs.  No funds for salaries//wages, it is all for the most awesome kickass fit out FIT OUT!

If we don't reach our goal, we will need to personally fund the project and that takes away our funds to hire a staff member. We will kick off in the red, which isn't good for any new business and it will take us awhile to get on top, this will hinder our events and activities.

We have no money left for goats!
