Right now, ancient eucalypts and rainforests, essential for clear air and a liveable climate, are being logged, bulldozed and burnt, destroying critical habitat for endangered wildlife like the koala, Greater Glider, Swift Parrot, Masked Owl and Tasmanian Devil.

Shockingly, once chopped down, most of our native forests are woodchipped and shipped overseas for short-term, throwaway products like paper or pallets. 

In this time of climate and biodiversity crises, this madness must stop. That's why we are asking you to chip in and fund our urgent campaign to end native forest logging now.

In March this year, over 7,500 people around the country marched on the streets, calling for an end to native forest logging, and international megastar Leonardo Dicaprio lifted his voice against the destruction of Australia’s native forests. 

This is history in the making. The people are rising, and the moment is closing in. The end of native forest logging is so close, we can almost smell the clean air.

But we need to keep the momentum going and our defiant actions for forests in the eyes and ears of the people who can end native forest logging, once and for all. 

By making a pledge, you will power our critical actions to protect native forests, including: 

• Continuing our defiant actions on the forest frontlines 🌳 Our forest defenders are halting logging in places like Tasmania's Styx Valley of the Giants, where Bob Brown and twelve others were arrested in recent months, for protecting these World Heritage Value forests.
• Taking legal action through the courts 🦜 We’re protecting critical habitat for endangered wildlife like Swift Parrots through powerful legal interventions.  Just this summer, we secured an injuction to halt logging in an area of Swift Parrot breeding habitat. 
• Conducting critical science 🔎 Our science team is out in the field, gathering data that will help secure permanent protection of native forests and stopping destructive mining and logging by documenting endangered species habitat.
• Lobbying our elected representatives 🗳️ Our passionate volunteers around the country are meeting with their MPs to call for a nationwide end to native forest logging.  
• Organising more nationwide rallies for forests ✊🏾 We have plans for more mass mobilisations across Australia later this year and again in 2025 before the Federal Election. 

Native forest logging was stopped in New Zealand over 20 years ago. Seeing the writing on the wall, Western Australia and Victoria have both announced an end to native forest logging.

Our campaign to end native forest logging needs resources across a range of different areas.

Funds raised will be used for

• Equipment and resources for our forest defenders to take peaceful direct actions in the forests
• Legal cases to challenge and stop the logging of threatened forests and protect threatened wildlife
• More mass community rallies and actions, across Australia, as we move towards a Federal Election in 2025.
