We have filmed half a short film. We need your help to finish it, and make it awesome. 

Grant "Scooter" Patterson is a small fella in a big world, but his personality and accomplishments would have you believe the opposite. As member of the Australian Paralympic Swim Team, Scooter has overcome many obstacles to live the life he lives today.  

We're making a short film about Scooter - capturing his crazy adventures and his approach to life - all from his perspective. These elements are wrapped up in a not-so-true love story. We want to make a bright, fun film about making the most out of life and hopefully inspire people, disabled or otherwise, to live life to the full. 

We spent a week shooting in Cairns in June - it rained the whole week - so Brett needs to fly back up to Cairns to finish shooting. Once shooting is finished, we want to have the film thoroughly colour-graded and audio-mixed to give it the best chance to become a Tropfest finalist.

Three main challenges

Time: We'll be doing our second round of filming from September 10 - 15. Tropfest submissions are due early October so we'll be burning the midnight oil in editing. But we'll be sure to find a post-production team ready to help us punch it out in time. 

Weather: We already had a week shooting in Cairns in which it RAINED ALL BLOODY WEEK. We did the best we could, and if happens again, we won't let it stop us. The film just won't be as bright as we'd like to be. 

Failing to make the Tropfest finals: Around 700 films are submitted to Tropfest each year and 16 finalists are selected, so it's going to be tough. If we don't get picked as finalists, the film won't be buried. We are working on a distribution strategy to ensure the most people as possible lay eyes on the film.
