To make professional digital scans of my photographs from 1980 onwards, which were all shot in the era of film. In particular I will focus on photos I shot as a music photographer in the 80's and 90's.
Can you help me restore a slice of Australian Rock 'n' Roll history? Without these digital files my photos will be lost to the world forever as no one will ever be able to reproduce them.

Background
In 1979 and for the following fifteen years or so I worked solely in the Australian Music industry as a music
photographer. There were not too many of us shooting as the industry itself was developing. Many of our Australian iconic bands were playing night after night to audiences right across the continent learning the ropes and building a following. This period in Australian music became the defining era of Australian rock 'n' roll. The Angels, INXS, Flowers [Iva Davies], Cold Chisel, Divinyls, Midnight
Oil, Crowded House, Mental As Anything, and The Church were just some of
the bands starting up at this time.
Others followed such as Noiseworks,
GANGgajang, Diesel, Peter Blakeley, Boom Crash Opera, etc. I worked with them all.
International bands were also lurking and besides having many great nights listening to them play I also got to take photos of some. Tom Jones, Bob Geldof, Mick Jagger, Faith No More, Hothouse Flowers, XTC to name a few.

In the 80's the music video was also born. From the tribe of people who made these clips we now have our current film industry. I worked with Directors Alex Proyas [Dont Dream Its Over, Crowded House], Kimble Rendall, Richard Lowenstein [INXS] and Craig Monaghan, to name a few. Music on the television gave the industry the boost it needed and gave me one too. Timing is everything. What a day job!

I have 34 years of photos in my library, and over two thirds of those were taken on film. As this small thing called ‘digital’ has now taken over the world, this means I have to scan my film based work before it is lost forever.
Can you help me get the scans done and revive a catalogue of Australian Music pictorial history?
Commercial rates would see me spend about $10,000 to get the job done properly but I will hire a machine and do it myself. It will take a bit of time but with your help I can get the job done quickly. Ever since this era of digital kicked in I have felt like i have two careers, pre digital and digital. And the pre digital work is at arms length. I can see the work on my shelf but I cant touch. Its like a bad and cruel dream.
The money raised will afford me to hire a professional scanner and the time to go through my vault - otherwise known as a lot of boxes. I will have the time to make hundreds of scans plus do the the post production work on each photo to get rid of dust etc, meaning I will sit at the computer a lot. Who said this job was glamorous? Time is the biggest requirement for me. Your support will allow me the luxury of not stressing and get this important job done. And it is important. This collection of scans will become a library from which many new and exciting projects can happen as well as preserve a history of Australian Music.
In return for your support I will use the new scans to make a limited edition book with available DIY book software [Check out the support packages on offer] Plus I am offering signed prints. You can choose from a menu of photos i will supply once scanning has been done. You can even choose to have a photo session with me!

All the sample photos I have used are low resolution scans and will look a million dollars better when they are professionally scanned to look like the originals.
