Unspeakable Documentary
Want to be part of the culture-shifting movement of Unspeakable?
ABOUT THE FILM
Unspeakable is a groundbreaking documentary that confronts the epidemic of sexual violence in Australia, boldly re-examining the wider culture of sexuality. In this feature-length production, we investigate not only the epidemic of violence but we seek to explore the capacity of survivors to heal and step into an empowered experience of their sexuality. We analyse the role the community has in making this happen. The film is a collection of reimaginings, discussions and insights that address this urgent conversation.
As a survivor-led production, Unspeakable understands that the definition of sexual liberation is fundamentally redefined through the lens of victim-survivors. Our mission is to create a dialogue around consent and sexual liberation for victim-survivors, for those seeking to change harmful behaviours and for the wider community
We call for a new movement of sexual liberation that restores agency to victim-survivors from the ground up. With a focus on empowerment and healing, the film asks, what do we truly need to liberate?
WHY WE WANT TO MAKE THIS FILM
With 22% of Australian women and 6.1% of men experiencing sexual violence, we know this conversation is crucial.
We want to break the silence surrounding sexual assault for victim-survivors to restore their agency and move forward into a space of more empowerment.
We will challenge harmful myths, promote consent and healthy sexual interactions and create a future where everyone feels safe in their relationships and their sexuality.
We aim to build communities that amplify your stories, dismantle shame, and advocate for healing from the ground up.

Budget Overview
Our goal is to raise $50,000 with crowdfunding and grants combined. We seek to raise 40% of our funds through crowdfunding to bring more autonomy to this survivor-led project and bring more autonomy to how the experiences of survivors are shared.
The money raised from crowdfunding will go directly towards production costs, creating a supportive environment for our interviewers and interviewees, paying speakers and health professionals, camera equipment, travel and accommodation, and postproduction costs including an editor, colour grading, sound design, and sound-mixing.
Every contribution brings us closer to empowering these stories and insights that have so much power in being heard. Thank you so much for your support every donation has an impact and drives this project home <3
