SYNOPSIS

Alyssa is a new member of the local women's AFL team, her best friend Maxine knocks her over during her first practice while she is still getting the hang of things. Maxine continues to ridicule her and subtly put her down while they get ready to leave, but before Alyssa can go Maxine wordlessly takes her to a violent football game with no rules, where everyone is eager to join the chaos, as if they all have an unspoken agreement with each other.

As the game goes on Alyssa starts to love the freedom of the violence and participates. After a particularly rough struggle with Maxine, in a blind rage Alyssa punches her in the face. This is new, a break from the rules. Everyone goes to comfort the teammate, but she smiles as if she knows that this is what Alyssa needed, to finally confront something.
