SANACORI DEBUT ALBUM
Sanacori was born with the desire and the necessity to accompany and complement the work of the Melbourne School of Tarantella, the first school in Australia dedicated to Southern Italian traditional and ritualistic dances, since 2011.
With this project we really want to offer our audience a new vision of Italian culture and tradition, beyond the food and the fashion, breaking the inaccurate sterorypes around the dance, the music, its meaning and function in our (Italian)culture.
Born as a duo, lead by dancer, vocalist and percussionist Rosa Voto, the band quickly drew interest in the folk music scene.
Since then we have played with various musicians and friends (including Rosa's son on mouth's harp) until we out together the dream band you know today which sees the precious contribution of guitarist and drummer Renato Vacirca and master accordionist and multi-instrumentalist Phil Carroll.
Our experience in the last five years has allowed us to grow, explore our own sound and style, while participating to a great number of multicultural and music festival and events, often accompanied by the vibrant and captivating tarantella dancers.
Here's an idea of what we do:
At the start of last year we finally decided it was time to record our first album!
So we set to work, excited and hopeful, and we recorded 8 beautiful tracks of carefully picked traditional songs from Italy.
Unfortunatley and sadly we had to leave these songs aside as lockdown got the best of our time, enthusiasm and ability to complete the album.
That's why now, a year later, we need YOUR HELP to complete this album and launch it!
Your support will bring this sweet collection of songs into your homes to sooth your hearts.
You will also support our mission to uncover a whole lot of Italian culture and music that has been ignored and misinterpreted for a very long time!
There are many ways you can support us, take a look at the rewards and choose what suits you best!
You can also buy more than one reward and get right into the Italian folk groove!
A big GRAZIE for now.
(that's thank you in Italian!)
