ABOUT THE NEW ALBUM
Right before Covid19 and lockdown, we were all set to launch and start touring our new spoken-word album
Three Generations. It was a real heartbreak to put everything on hold and cancel all public events at the last minute. We've been thinking of ways to get the album out there ever since! We are excited to say you can now pre-order the album online here and it will be with you soon!
THREE GENERATIONS is a poetic story-telling of Palestinian exile and determination, but also a response to moments in the past few years – from the fire in Grenfell Tower, March of Return to the obsessive politics of Arab Idol! I hope it captures even a small glimpse of the love and steadfastness of multiple generations who insisted on telling their truth with 'joy and love against skies of steel".
Musically, as my second collaboration with producer Phil Monsour we worked to develop a seamless connection between words and music. He assembled an incredible team of musicians to bring this new album to life, incorporating acoustic guitar, nai, oud, and percussions in a different way, unique in the spoken word genre. I look forward to sharing it with you!
Budget Overview
Sadly, Covid19 has impacted our ability to tour and get the album out there. So, we've decided to run this campaign to both help us get the album to your doorstep and cover production costs. We have set this target to cover minimal, basic musician fees and manufacturing. Your orders will help us continue to support important grassroots initiatives we work with. It is an all-or-nothing campaign - so every little bit matters and will make a difference.
