PMI Victorian History Library

Here at the PMI Victorian History Library Inc. we are entirely independent and not for profit. This means that we receive no regular government funding and rely on the generosity of our wonderful members, supporters and friends to continue doing what we do. As custodians of an extensive collection of historical resources, we strive to keep Victoria's past alive for generations to come.

But why should you support us? Here's why. So far this year we’ve answered 331 enquiries, loaned 839 books, added 2429 items to the collection and had 1623 people visit the library. Our collection has grown to more than 40,000 items for loan and we are back having a full events calendar. We use our events to promote authors, artists and projects that impact and contribute to Victoria's history. Together, we can continue to celebrate our heritage and invest in a future where the past thrives!

This year we’re launching our first annual Winter Appeal. Anything you can give will be a help, and all donations are tax deductible. The PMI Library is a community, and any help you can afford to give will be so greatly appreciated.

If you are able to donate $100 or more you can chose a book currently in our collection to sponsor, and we’ll place a bookplate in the book acknowledging your adoption. Feel free to adopt for someone else as a gift too. We also welcome people sponsoring a book in memory of someone. 

Your generous donations will directly enhance our efforts in preserving and promoting the history of Victoria. With your support, we can continue to provide researchers, students, and history enthusiasts books they can borrow to explore our fascinating past and uncover new untold stories.
