Mike Foxall

Compendium Mindbendium is a book of art by lowbrow artist Mike "Fox" Foxall collecting poster / flyer art, tshirt / album designs, comics, paintings and illustrations from the past 15 years or so. Frequent dwellers of the underground rock and roll scene will clock many of the pieces from their travels amongst merch desks and record stores, so expect to recognise images celebrating bands such as The Neptune Power Federation, Frenzal Rhomb, King Parrot, Nashville Pussy, Gorilla, The Hard-Ons, Astrodeath, Dr Colossus, Alien Nosejob, Sick Fizz, Dr Colossus, Black Aces, Where's The Pope?, Nancy Vandal, Guttermouth, Downgirl, The Veebees, The Stripp and many many more.


However the book also collects pieces seen only briefly as exhibition works, out of print comics or sketches lost down the social media rabbit hole. There's even work that has never seen the light of day at all including aborted album covers, pandemic cancelled tour posters and sketches too weird to serve any discernable function at all. Throughout it all Fox offers plenty of pithy anecdotes, cutting commentary and penetrating insight into his process and what it all bloody means (spoiler: not a lot).

As usual there will be juicy extras for high rolling clientele including 5 one off hand coloured block mounted pieces, 20 numbered A5 gell prints, stickers, fridge magnets and The Art of Fox printed tote bags.

This aim of this campaign is to pay for athe print run of 200 hard cover 240 page books, associated Pozible/transaction fees, bonus stickers, tote bags and postcards and packaging materials. I have produced numerous books, magazines and record pressings through crowd funded campaigns before and feel I have a pretty good handle on these things. As usual, I treat these campaigns as pre-orders of a product that will see the light of day regardless. It just helps me getting the money up front.
