'Down the Way' is a coming of age story set in the suburban housing estates east of Melbourne. Exploring the sense of aimlessness, bravado and totality of adolescence, the film deals with the fracturing of a childhood friendship between two boys as they begin to come to terms with their different futures ahead. The film will be stylistically similar to the recent Spike Jonze film 'Songs from the Suburbs' as well as an homage to the 1990s naturalistic stylings of Gus Van Sant and Richard Linklater.

As director, I have been working on this project since it's beginnings as a script in January 2011 and so far through and combination of self funding and fundraising have managed to raise a sizable budget for the film's production. However we still need to fundraise more money to finance the post production process of this film.
