Art Fundraiser for Flood Recovery
Can you help us restore our beloved art centre?
Karungkarni Art is the cultural heart of the Gurindji People. We are an Indigenous-run and owned organisation dedicated to art, culture, language and history on Gurindji Country in remote Northern Territory of Australia.
But on the 1st of March, Karungkarni Art was inundated with floodwaters from the Victoria River.
Here's the ABC News report from 2 March.
We were able to save some valuable documents and records, but we have lost all of our furniture, whitegoods, tools, art supplies and some of our artworks.
We urgently need funds to pay for our Gurindji art workers and community members to help clean up, replace the contents of the building and re-print Gurindji language and art resources.
We need your help!
While the building is insured, the clean-up will take many months and many hands.
By supporting our fundraising campaign, you can help get Karungkarni Art get back on its feet!
If you can, please give generously and share our fundraising campaign with your colleagues, friends and family.
Please donate what you can through No Reward (just scroll down and write your amount).

Budget Overview
We have different goals:
Most immediately we need $35,000 to employ five Gurindji people for three months for the clean up.
We're hoping to stretch this campaign to:
* $5000 for new furniture including whitegoods, tables, chairs etc.
* $10,000 to replace our art supplies including acrylic paint, rolls of linen, canvases and brushes
* $40,000 to replace the stocks of Gurindji language and art resources that we've produced over the last 10 years including books and posters
