'In The Red' is a 15-20 minute short film that focuses on two unrelated characters, Jesse & Nick, who's paths become intertwined. Jesse, in her final year of high school, is determined to make something of herself. She studies all day and escapes the trouble at home by riding the nightrider until the last stop. Things are weighing down on her but she's trying to keep her chin up. Meanwhile Nick is caught up in his own mishaps. Gambling has consumed him and he'll do just about anything to maintain his lifestyle; until a plan goes wrong and forces him into Jesse's life.
KARINA BANNO - Writer/Director
Karina has written and directed short films, TVC's, documentaries and her recent webseries, 'The Unfortunate Files', went on to win 'Best Web Series' at the Port Stephens Film Festival in 2014. 'September' a short film that she co-directed with Tara O'Connell, has been accepted into the 2015 ATOM Awards, after already winning 'Best Short' and 'People's Choice' at the 2014 Martini Awards.
MAREE SEMINOVAS - Producer
Maree Seminovas has recently completed filming a television pilot 'Karralak' which gained industry attention. In addition to this she has also produced on award winning 'The Unfortunate Files' web series. She has previously completed various work experience with theatre companies (ATYP & Horizon Theatre). She has completed corporate videos for various companies. Maree's recent creative portfolio also includes a short film, a music video as well as several commercials.
TIM NAGLE - Director Of Photography
Tim has made his mark in the Australian film industry with his action-horror cinematography work in 2014's 'Wyrmwood'. He has worked on TVC's including Athletes Foot, BCNU Swimwear, and Glenfiddich's nation wide campaign. Tim has captured music videos, short films, corporate videos and was selected to film and edit the Australian Hair and Fashion Awards in 2014.
KARINA BANNO has trained at NIDA with their open programs, 75% Old School, and the Actors Centre Australia. Her television credits include Home & Away, Deadly Women and Dark Minds. Karina's film credits include 'Circle of Lies', directed by Matt Cerwen. She has secured several nation wide commercials, including Oreo, McDonalds, AGL, Woolworths, Canon, NRMA, and many others. Karina will be playing Jesse.
YURE COVICH graduated NIDA in 2003 and his works spans from film and television, to theatre. His television credits include Comedy Inc, All Saints, and Home & Away. Yure's film credits include 'The Black Balloon', directed by Tristan Miall, 'Panic at Rock Island', directed by Tony Tilse, one of Australia's most successful films of all time 'Red Dog', directed by Kriv Stenders, and 2014's smash hit 'Wyrmwood', directed by Kiah Roche-Turner. Yure has appeared in plays for Sydney Theatre Company, Griffin, B Sharp, and The Old Fitzroy, and will be playing Nick in 'In The Red'.

- Providing catering for each and every crew member on set
- Purchasing any/all production design needs (props, costumes, set dressing)
- Location fees
- Post production services that will amplify the quality of the film (Colourist, sound editor)

The Challenges
An obstacle that we may encounter when filming 'In The Red' is potentially having to shoot over two months, given this time of year. But we aren't impatient with this project, and have our eyes set on some fantastic locations. So we are willing to take the time necessary to make this film the best it can be.
