Alice Springs community radio personalities Kamkorda and Rocklishus are going to release a 12 inch record, made entirely of sampled sounds from around Karkorda’s coffee machine, which is located in his popular Alice Springs venue, Kafegonzo.



Back in late 2012, the two hosts of the local radio show Humbug Rehab, locked themselves inside Kafegonzo and began recording what ended up being a mix of over 100 unique sounds extracted from around the coffee machine.



Using just a Pioneer mixer mapped to the software program Traktor and using Ableton Live for editing, they began mixing the different sounds and experimenting with random loops to create accidental sound combinations that eventually formed into sweet, fresh beats. 



After wrestling with a heap of different ideas for an album title, they've settled with The Grinds. Some of the names that didn't make the cut included Coffee Sounds, Froth, Steam Clunk, Sounds from the Grounds, Time for the Percolator and Rage Against the Caffeine.

Unfortunately for the last 2 years the sounds have been sitting quietly on a hard drive collecting dust and the project has 'ground' to a halt. 

During that time a lot has happened. 

Including Kamkorda moving Kafegonzo to a new location and Rocklishus relocating to Sydney.



However the coffee beats wax dream is still very much alive, and with your help they can make it happen. 

To take the recording through to its final stages Kamkorda and Rocklishus are in need of a big financial boost.

The cost to get the record pressed, full colour artwork included, packaged and shipped from overseas is high.



For Kamkorda and Rocklishus to put their names on the product, the finished work must be of the highest quality, with no corners cut. For those reasons, financially they can’t do it alone. 

They need at least $3000 to make it happen. 

With your tender loving financial backing, they can do it.

All the money raised will go towards getting the recording completed to highest quality level possible.
This includes paying for it to be professionally mixed and mastered.



The remainder of the money will go towards getting the record pressed at United Record Pressing in Nashville Tennessee, one of the world's leading record pressing facilities. This includes pressing the audio onto multicoloured 180 gram audiophile vinyl, 4 colour CMYK sleeve artwork, plus the cost of shipping the records back to Australia.
