WELCOME!
.....to the IT IS WELL crowd funding project! The Production is a 15 minute short film written and directed by James Litzow for his final film production at New York Film Academy Australia. The story, set in Australia, is based around the idea of death, posing the question "Where will you be in the end?". It emphasizes the importances of ending one's life in peace and harmony in surrounding relationships.
SYNOPSIS
To the dismay of his family, township and himself; Terry Walter, an apathetic old man, comes miraculously back to life. Quickly discovering his inability to physically die, and therefore faced with the prospect of immortality, Terry must find peace if he is going to live forever, despite wanting to forget all his life failures.
Cast
CHRIS BETTS
We are extremely fortunate to have the talented Chris Betts on the project. For over 25 years, he has been a professional actor and voice over artist. Chris has worked at all the major theatre companies around Australia and his face has been seen on the box in many commercials, TV series and films.
CATE FELDMANN
Terry's wife will be played by the extremely talented and experienced actress, Cate Feldmann. She has had years experience all throughout the major Australian cities both in film and on stage. We are extremely happy to have her a part of the film.
DARRELL PLUMRIDGE
We are also excited to have the incredibly versatile Darrell Plumridge with us. With years under his belt and countless hours of on set acting experience, Darrell is an actor capable of any role. Coming to us highly recommended, he is well renowned throughout the industry.
TRUDI MICHELLE
The beautiful and amazingly talented Trudi Michelle will be playing the part of Terry's emotionally repressed daughter. She is extremely capable for the role and brings so much life to the character and production. Working with Trudi has been a great opportunity.
Crew
As IT IS WELL is a thesis film for our studies at NYFA Australia, the crew is comprised of ambitious, hard-working student filmmakers. Our course at NYFA has prepared us well for the hectic, stressful, treacherous and slippery life on set, but we are eager as ever to get started.
JAMES LITZOW - Writer/Director
A filmmaker since a young boy, James Litzow aspires for a career in the film industry. More importantly, he strives to tell an entertaining and thought provoking story.
RYAN MUSGRAVE - Producer/1st AD
A master in control of any set, Ryan K. Musgrave is willful and determined through the thick and the thin. He has an ability to dissect and plan through puzzling logistics whilst maintaining a calming attitude. Along with the brilliant 2nd AD, Nikki Ripley; an extremely knowledgeable and strong headed woman, the Production will run with ease.
LOUIS HOWE - Cinematographer
A quiet visionary originating from Perth, Louis Howe has a wonderful eye for the camera. His knowledge, discipline and creativity adds a beautiful perception to the film. Louis and his crew; consisting of Matthew Martin and Mark R. Lowe, are a brilliant blend of muscles and brain power that will ensure the camera is ready to capture the scene from the most beautiful and appropriate angle.
CALLUM MCDONALD - Production Designer
An impressive and diligent storyteller, Callum McDonald has the ability to depict any character through the placement and manipulation of the set. He has an unique art to Production Design that wouldn't exist in the film without him. Callum will go the extra mile to ensure the surroundings are true to the story and characters.
GENEVIEVE DEVEREAUX - Sound Recordist
An ear tuned to listening, Genevieve Devereaux knows the importance of sound to a story and can capture the audio with maximum clarity. She works over and above, recording everything she knows is necessary to tell the best story audibly. With her beautiful assistant Luke Richards, an incredibly diligent and devoted man on set, we can trust nothing less than amazing will come from them.

The Challenges
Filming out in Clifton is the biggest challenge of all. Being a small town it isn't very facilitating for a film shoot, however the township is very accommodating and very keen to help. The logistics of travel and accommodation for cast and crew will be a challenge.
The crew, including Director and Producer, plan on sleep in tents, whilst we'll hold our professional actors in a motel to ensure they are well rested to give their best performances. We have fortunately been supplied equipment but we require a secure place to store them. Keeping energy levels up is the most important aspect for the set, therefore we plan to feed the cast and crew three main meals a day for five days; including tea, coffee and snacks.
We look forward to overcoming every challenge, so the experience can benefit us on future sets.
