Girls on Film Festival 2017
Girls on Film Festival is a live mixtape of feminism, film and parties, and it is returning for its third year! Held at the Brunswick Town Hall in Melbourne, GOFF will be back from the 6th to the 8th of October 2017.
More slumber party than competition, more mixtape than jury selection, more laid back than prestigious, and a rockin' good time for feminists who love to watch movies, GOFF is like nothing else on Melbourne's movie scene. We screen a program of incredible movies - underrated gems, cult classics and beloved feminist favourites - with special introductions, panels and conversations between sessions, as well as a party every night and performances peppered throughout. Inspired by our love of Riot Grrrl culture, GOFF isn't just about movies, but also include, live music performances, poetry, activism, badges, and a DIY ethic.
And this year we're gonna do it all again – BIGGER and BETTER! It's gonna be a helluva three-day party where you can meet other feminists, activists and fans in a space created just for you.
This year, we have a super talented and wonderful team running the show. We have some fabulous new co-directors in Myf Clark, Nat May and Mimo Mukii (who have all stepped up from previous roles), with Ruta Marcinkus and Kassi Grace working on festival management! We also have so many more incredible babes involved this year including Gabriella Björklund, Alice Boyle, Emily Connolly, Tor Evans, Maxime Hexter, Romany Hiscock, Srini Madhavan, Bridget McClumpha, Bryanna Reynolds, Suze Stein, Margaret Tanjutco, Jessica West, Cassandra Yiannacou and more to come!

How The Funds Will Be Used
It costs a lot to throw the best party of the year! In previous years we covered our costs, but to do it all again in 2017, we do need your help. Below is a breakdown of our primary expenses:
Pozible fees, transaction fees, credit card fees: $1,500
Reward costs, including materials and manufacturing costs for merch: $1,000
Venue and bar for three days: $4,000
Equipment - screens, projector, projectionist, microphones, sound system: $2,500
Film rights: $4,000
Design, website and hosting, printing, marketing and advertising: $2,000
Of course, it will take more than just this to bring the festival to life. But if we meet our target you’ll be helping us jump the biggest hurdle, and helping us bring you the biggest babefest this town has ever seen. And this year, we've got lots of surprises up our sleeves.
The Challenges
This year GOFF is going to be bigger, better and more badass! The challenge will be to top the success of the last two festivals, which is no mean feat! This year we have a larger dream team, a fancy new venue and more incredible films in the program. This all takes more money and more elbow grease, but it's totally worth it to see more girls up there on the big screen.
