After the huge success of Lily Longnose Finds a Home, we are excited to bring you TWO new stories in Lily’s collection – Lily Longnose the Fashion Star, written by Emily Norman, and Georgia The Grey Comes Home To Stay, written by 9-year-old Hannah Danesfaleh.

Lily Longnose Finds a Home was published in October 2023 and has helped raise money for seven amazing animal organisations in Australia. Our little “team” has also been bustling with visits to schools and libraries, providing dynamic book readings to more than 800 West Australian schoolchildren. In partnership with Free The Hounds, our book readings are delivered alongside educational presentations about animal welfare, advocacy, and greyhound racing, which aligns with the WA school curriculum. We are proud that Lily’s book influences little people worldwide. Emily and Hannah are excited to bring you two new stories of the famous rescue greyhounds, Lily Longnose and Georgia The Grey! 

Katayha Gould lovingly illustrates both new stories to the Lily Longnose Collection. This talented UK-based artist is passionate about rescuing greyhounds and supporting good causes. 

The Lily Longnose story collection has been designed as an advocacy and educational tool to empower the next generation to choose compassion and kindness. Animal rescues and advocacy groups have been able to purchase the books at cost price and sell them to generate profits for their important work. In the first year of Lily’s first book release, we helped animal rescues to raise over $3,000. This work will continue with the release of these two additional titles.

About the Authors

Hannah Danesfaleh is one of the youngest greyhound advocates and was recently awarded an RSPCA Animal Welfare Award, in recognition of her outstanding work. She is a talented young person who has always had a way with words and has now penned a beautiful story about her fur sister. Hannah’s first book, Georgia The Grey Comes Home to Stay is a 32 page children’s book, with delightful rhymes and charming illustrations. It tells the story of a dog broken by the greyhound racing industry, who is fortunate enough to land in an Australian family's patient and loving arms. Hannah's book has been written under the mentorship of Emily.

Emily Norman, author of Lily Longnose Finds A Home (published 2023), is proud to present Lily Longnose the Fashion Star. With the support and encouragement of her best friend Georgia, Lily finds a new purpose in life after competing in a fashion show. The 32-page children’s book uses playful rhymes and cute illustrations to tell this story of bravery and the power of friendship.

For all our rewards we will cover the cost of postage within Australia, however, if you are supporting us from overseas you'll need to pay additional postage (sorry!).

The budget for this project covers the cost of:

- Illustrations of two 32-page stories, including revisions and delivery of original sketches

- Editing of drafts, purchasing of ISBNs and barcodes

- Publishing services including listing on online distribution channels

- Test prints and postage

- Printing and postage of rewards purchased by supporters

As the first book, Lily Longnose Finds a Home, was designed to create profit for rescue organisations, we've been unable to set aside funds to develop more books (because we haven't made any profit). Therefore, we are seeking the public's support to help us cover the set-up costs for these two new books. Once they've been published, our rescue organisations will be able to purchase these books for cost price and generate a profit for their amazing work.
