I have been accepted to exhibit in Sculpture by the Sea Aarhus in Denmark. An exhibition which has over 500,000 visitors, it represents an important opportunity to access the European art scene. My sculptures are created ‘on site’ and I have a five week residency at the Goldsbanen artists’ space so I can make a large Site Specific Environmental artwork.
I‘ve also been accepted to the ‘Nomadic Village’, a six week travelling residency with 25 International installation, performance and media artists travelling through Bulgaria, Romania and Austria.
As an artist and a mum I need to finance the travel of my young children. It’s too long to leave the kids, I need/want them to come with me, especially my two year old Banjo, though to be honest I couldn’t leave my Nellie home for more than a week.
This is an issue that many mothers face, often it's a choice between being an artist and the family and we end up having to say no to opportunities. please help change that story.
I won the Helen Lempriere Sculptor Scholarship for Emerging artist at Sculpture By the Sea, Bondi last year and have received a Department of the Arts Artsflight that covers my travel and expenses . But i need funds for Nelle and Banjo, my husband who is a Sustainability student is providing his share, so I’m asking you, my extended community for assistance.

How The Funds Will Be Used
Flights for the kids is most critical. i will also print a 3 page fold out of my work to present to curators, artists and philanthropists. I met renowned Environmental Artist Chris Booth in New Zealand last year and when I asked what had helped him break through in Europe, he handed me an old booklet of his work, inspired I'm creating my own . www.chrisbooth.co.nz

The Challenges
The greatest challenge is the children's flights, to be honest other option is that we are going to have to sell our car! Additional funds would be appreciated and used for living expenses and would allow me to take advantage of any other art opportunities that arise whilst we are in Europe.

Workshop for small groups.
