Darwin. Of all places. Could you get much further away?
That's where my son, Joel, will be representing the A.C.T. in Aussie Rules at the School Sport Australia National AFL Championships from the 10th - 18th August 2013.
My aim is to contribute as much as possible to the costs of getting Joel, myself, Joel's Mum and his younger brother there.

[ Joels mother has now paid for Joel, herself and Joels brother with significant burden. Any money raised here is to contribute to the overall massive costs which includes my own flights and accommodation.

Why is this so important? Because Joel deserves his family to be there despite a recent separation. He deserves to know and truly feel his Mum and Dad love him. Joel's younger brother deserves to experience some unity at this highlight in Joel's (our) life equally.
This is my cause. Joel is my cause. Being unemployed has fueled the decision to take this path albeit initially reluctantly.To not be there in Darwin is one unthinkable notion. UNTHINKABLE!!

There's just one more easy thing I ask of you. Joel has played Aussie Rules since he was 9 for two local clubs in Canberra. A " tough nut" footballer with a gifted ability to read the play has put him in good stead for continual growth as a footballer.Joel was chosen to represent the A.C.T at the upcoming School Sports Australia National AFL Championships, August 10 - 18th, 2013, Darwin, NT.
Joel is also a part of the GWS Academy who's aim is to expose young passionate footballers to the culture of elite sport. It is used as a funnel for talent to the GWS AFL team.
