About the project
Cooked is a 5 x 5 minute web-series full of animated adult comedy. A satirical response to our Government’s plan to re-sail The Endeavour in 2020. After all, it's been 250 years since James Cook mounted The Endeavour and set sail to discover unchartered lands with his rich, white seamen. We should celebrate his plans to impregnate the dry Australian continent with the Crown’s moist seed, right?
Wash down those scones with some Terra Nullius tea, welcome to the world of Cooked.
The Story
Directed by Gamilaraay man Jake Duczynski, written by Jake Duczynski and James Hackett, Cooked delves into the mysterious ‘Wyatt Gildt’ curse – a malevolence brought ashore on The Endeavour all those years ago. It still plagues the nation to this day, rearing its head in many forms, possessing individuals to show symptoms of patriotic fervour, extreme sensitivity and assumed privilege.
We are looking to build a passionate audience and make Cooked kick some cursed ass. Every donation made will go to our creative team and help rid Australia of Wyatt Gildt!
The show is based in 2020, where the ship has sat motionless - shackled to the docks of Darling Harbour. Until the Prime Minister announced The Endeavour will once again sail the seas. Unwittingly the PM awakens the ships dead Captain – James Cook. Well, the ghost of him anyway.
He’s accompanied by Mahnra the immortal goat. She’s fierce – but unlike Cook – she’s not a ghost. Mahnra was once a young Indigenous woman who’s spirit became trapped inside the body of a goat when killed by Wyatt Gildt – the evil man who is believed to be the source of the curse.
Cook and Mahnra steal the Endeavour. Their mission is to lift the curse and unbind the affected citizens from its grips. To do so, they must consult the oldest surviving knowledge keepers; the First Nations people and spirits from the Dreaming Knowledge Institute.

We have been lucky in getting funding from Screen Australia and Create NSW. But, there are many costs involved in making an animated series and we would love your help. Our talented crew is made of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people, all working together to deliver a great animated web-series.
