Help disabled artist exhibition
This will be my first exhibition of my art.
I have been offered a summer residency at Yarra Sculpture Gallery in Abbotsford, which means that an entire room of the gallery (the Projection Room) will be mine to situate my art in. I will be using the gallery's projector to show my short films, but will be expected to use other areas of the room space for installations of sorts.
I receive very little financial support for the time I am putting in ($150 from the gallery). Whilst this is very generous of them, it won't go far. I am required to pay for all installation materials.
As someone living with disability, everything costs more. I spend about $6000 a year on my Parkinsons treatments, medications, etc. And time lost from work. And lost opportunities.
I will keep my budget as small as possible, but everything costs and it quickly adds up. Hence, this ask. Even $5 would make a huge difference to me. I'm not that poor, but a few dollars from a lot of people will help me greatly.
Budget Overview
Once I see the Projection Room from the vantage point of an artist in residence, I will have a better idea of what I need.
I do know that I will be interested in purchasing a lage number of small black frames to present a range of small pieces in.
