Tasmania, my island home and sanctuary is a constant source of inspiration for my  photography based visual arts practice.  I explore the point of artistic interface between the social and cultural with objects and histories, captured within a framed still life arrangement. The subjects all share the connection of place and origin. The native and endemic preserved specimens of birds and mammals are sourced from public and private collections across the state. So too are the cultural and heritage objects, located predominately in the 19th century, the subjects are transported into current history as contemporary art with a context that is relatable to today's experiences. 

On the 18th April this year a survey show of my photographic artworks will open at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. Titled “The Enquiring Light”, it will feature approximately 26 large scale framed photographic prints from 2012-19.

My fundraising campaign here is to raise the funds needed to assist with the printing and framing of the 26 photographic prints for "The Enquiring Light". 

You are welcome to donate with or without a reward, it will all be gratefully received. I am offering artworks at heavily discounted prices as rewards for your support. Offerings of $60+ will be rewarded with artworks, you can choose which ones you would like, subject to availability as some may sell early in the campaign.

Intaglio prints (etchings) based on the subjects to be included in "The Enquiring Light are some of the many rewards on offer. You can choose any from a set of 5 different designs, (subject to availability as the editions are limited to 30 for each print). If you purchase 1-4 prints they are $60 each, if you buy the full set of 5 prints, it will be $250, a saving of $50. These prints are 15 x20cm and will fit neatly into a ready made frame, choose a frame with mountboard and a window of 20x25cm (8” x10”). You can pick up your rewards if you are local or I can post to you free of charge.

There are also many larger photographic prints on offer as well. The rewards range from $300 - $1200, which is up to 60% off the regular selling price. There is only one of each of these available, so get in early. Again, you are welcome to pick up your purchases if you are local. Otherwise you will need to arrange transport/freighting.

If you are feeling adventurous, then why not have a work of art created for you? I can create a still life photograph image for you! I am sure you have some favourite possessions in your life, how about  capturing them in a work of art to hang on your wall. This reward will require you to be able to bring your items to my studio in Launceston, Tasmania for the photo shoot. The arrangement of items will need to be no larger than 100cm x 100cm x100cm. The print will be 80cm on the longest side.  In the true spirit of still life, all subjects must be inanimate! You will need to contact me to discuss the options before you commit to this reward.

Any funds raised above the target will be reinvested into the production of new works and studio equipment.

I have received an Arts Tasmania grant to assist with the production costs and I am now needing to raise the remaining $10,500 needed to present the show. It will contribute towards approximately three days of proofing and printing in Melbourne and freighting of artworks as well as framing. Any amounts raised above the goal will go towards the production of new work and studio equipment.
