Black Hops Successfully Launched Australia's First Crowdfunded Brewery
Three friends walk into a bar and leave with a dream for an Eggnog Stout and their own brewery. It may sound like the start of a joke but this was the beginning of Black Hops Brewery - the first brewery in Australia to be successfully launched via crowdfunding.
The Campaign
The campaign opened on the 11th of January and within 24 hours over 100 supporters had jumped on board to smash the original target of $10,000.
With brilliant rewards such as early bird access to their brews, merchandise and even a tour of the brewery - it was no surprise that people wanted to get involved. Back this up with a blog, podcast and strong social media channels, the campaign was a go getter from the start.

Black Hops have been unstoppable since their successful campaign! Not only are their beers now available on tap at over 50 venues Australia wide but they're snapping up awards left, right and centre.
They have just made history books once again with their equity crowdfunding campaign with our sister site Birchal becoming the first campaign in Australia to reach their maximum target of $400,000. The campaign publicly launched on the 18th of January 2019 and just six days later on Thursday the 24th reached this incredible milestone.
