WHY I'M SEEKING FUNDING

Its been a tough year or so for so many of us I appreciate. Covid-19 has impacted all our lives in so many different ways. I know I am not alone in this, far from it. 


Covid 19 has impacted my life both personally and financially. Covid 19 stole my mum last year. It also impacted on the costs of paper, printing and transport. Covid 19 also impacted negatively on timelines, meaning that if I don't pay for air freighting a number of books over to Australia at significant extra cost, I won't get the books in time for a Winter launch.


I am therefore seeking funding to help towards the printing costs and to also help pay for 60 books to be air freighted to Australia at significant cost so that I can launch the book in Winter. This could mean the difference between the success or failure of this book project - you can't launch a winter book in spring!


I would be so very grateful therefore for your help!

From a creative perspective the book is finished. Yeh!


From a financial perspective, all production costs have been paid for (except my time) plus 50% of the printing costs. The remaining 50% is still due plus I will have to pay GST and import taxes when the consignment arrives at Melbourne Port in addition.


NO RISK - NO PLEDGES ARE TAKEN IF THIS CAMPAIGN IS NOT SUCCESSFUL ...


Importantly also for prospective pledgers, there is NO QUESTION this book will be printed and transported to Australia, regardless of the success or not of this campaign. I have already organised to borrow the additoinal funds I need. However, there will be interest on this loan, and having to borrow the extra funds will plunge me into further debt at a precarious time.

Budget Overview

BUDGET

I have already paid 50% deposit ($22,600) to the printing company (Everbest Printing International Ltd based in Hong Kong) and have paid all other book costs to date (photography, design), other than GST and import tax at Melbourne Port when the books arrive by sea freight.


There are no other costs outstanding other than the remaining 50% of printing costs I have to pay, import levies and GST.


Estimated timeline for delivery currently Early-Mid August. 


The total budget for this book was approx $70,000+ in total. Not including my time.


Note: I will still proceed with this book regardless of the success of this campaign. So please do keep an eye on how it is going and keep in touch.
