Visible Ink is a entirely student-run anthology produced with RMIT’s Associate Degree of Professional Writing and Editing and published by Clover Press.

Our 30th anniversary edition is a collection of twenty-five incredible works of art, fiction, nonfiction and poetry around the theme trace: to trace the call or hang up, to cast a trace or disappear without one, but never to copy. With house plants and boyfriends, churning oceans and concrete lakes, dustpans and deluvials and even Dostoyevsky, this is one you don’t want to miss.

Since 1989, without fail, Visible Ink has released a new edition every year. It has been a launching pad for the careers of many writers and artists, who by either working on the book behind the scenes or by submitting to appear in Visible Ink have left a trace on the publication. Some of those names include MJ Hyland,  Sarah Krasnostein, Alexis Wright, Melanie Cheng, Chris Womersley, Mark Smith, Oslo Davis, Myfanwy Jones, Carrie Tiffany and Carole Wilkinson to name a few.

The budget for this project – including payment for all published submissions (approx $2000)– comes from fundraising events, grants/sponsorship where possible, and support from generous donors like you. 

Funds made from this campaign will contribute to the printing costs (approx $3000) of the 2018 edition of Visible Ink, including a unique cover design as a special feature of the 30th anniversary edition.

We are printing 200 copies of Trace. 70 copies are available through this campaign and the rest will be for sale at the launch, online and in select bookstores after the launch date.
