SCRIPT ASSESSMENTS ON THE DEVIL'S WORK:
“The Devil’s Work plays a game of cat and mouse with its characters in a tense horror feature. The writer has a distinct writing style and horror potential and manages to create a true sense of chaos. As a contained, eminently feasible horror genre piece, this script knows its target audience well and delivers in every way.” ~ The Black List
“Dark, contained, and instantly riveting from its first few pages, The Devil’s Work propels young couple, Dustin and Charlie, into a harrowing survival thrill ride that will grab its audiences and never let them go until its final pages. Leveraging vivid visual imagery that is at once both unsettling and unforgettable, it plays out its fast-paced narrative in a fashion that comes across as gripping, smoothly flowing, and eminently cinematic in flavor. Throughout the cat and mouse chase that comes to define its central journey, the script proves genuinely impressive in the ways that it leverages its contained settings and makes use of every room, facet, and detail. Similarly, between Charlie, Dustin, and terrifying sister, Lindy, the story layers in a compelling sense of conflict, back story, and subsumed secrets, shifting its perspective in ways that will keep audiences on their toes and forever guessing at where it will go next. With a cathartic sense of relief in its climactic crescendo of a conclusion, this script leaves off on a high note, treating its audiences to a nightmarish journey whose lasting impressions will linger well beyond its final pages.” ~ The Black List
