And I believe it's possible.  How?  By building long term intimacy on purpose.

Hey, I'm Darren and I'm looking to fund the first 100 copies of a book I wrote to help marriages stay sweet, close and hot by focusing on just 3 things. 

We know marriage can be hard.  But we can work and make it better.

It's true, marriage can be super hard at times.  We've been married for 22 years and it's been a pretty epic journey with lots of good times but also an insane rollercoaster sometimes too.  But it can be good.  Like, really good. The effort is worth it.  Anything worthwhile takes work. You gotta do the work. You have to put the effort in.  It's not always easy but it's always worth it.

A short book, packed with helpful stuff.

I wanted to write a book that was short enough that a guy like me would read.  I tried to make it like a power-packed protein ball of goodness to your marriage.  It's written in a casual way, with as much wisdom as I could jam in it.  And I've tried to make it super accessible for the average Joe like me.

The concept is simple.  But the outworking takes time and effort. So it's really more of a handbook.  A guidebook to intimacy. 

Here's what you'll learn.

Through hundreds of hours talking with couples and thinking about what works well in our own marriage of 22 years, I realised there were a few common threads. To build long-lasting intimacy we need three basic things:

1. To feel connected
2. To get on the same page
3. To go in the same direction

Simple but not always easy. 

Prioritise your connection.  Have conversations that unify you.  And talk about your dreams and goals and how you'll get there together. I've included many actions steps you can take, date night topics and questions for you to process personally that will help you build intimacy into your marriage.

In the book I unpack each of these, add a bunch of stuff to consider for each one, look at the barriers and provide practical ways to build each area back in your marriage.  The result?  Increasing intimacy... long term.  And that means greater fulfilment and happiness for you both.

Who is this guy anyway?

Ok, a little bit about me.  I'm married to a gorgeous woman called Beck.  We have 4 kids together.  3 teenage boys and a 10-year-old girl.  The journey has been good... We've had plenty of ups and loads of challenges but it's overall been very, very wonderful.   And, along the way, discovered a real passion to help other couples be happy inside their own marriage too.

We have journeyed through our own startup business, twins, wildly different libidos, polar opposite personalities and a sizeable extended family. We have enjoyed a honeymoon in Europe, having the same set of core values, more laughing than I ever thought was possible, doing life with some incredible friends and having some very wise mentors. 

And, here we go...  I'm also a pastor. Like, of a church.  And I love it.  But I haven't written this as a faith book.  Just everything I've learned put plainly and simply for every couple to build their intimacy on purpose.

The campaign helps me accomplish 3 things:

1. Final design and typesetting of the book
2. Printing of the first 100 copies
3. Setup on Amazon Kindle (ebook) and Print on Demand (POD (paper))

The third point here ensures the book has the opportunity at an international audience and will enable people to purchase the book literally from anywhere.  If they purchase a paper book from, for example, Amsterdam, the book is printed in the POD facility in London and shipped immediately.
