The Story So Far

I opened The Social Brewers with a mission of bringing Great Beer to the St George Area. Celebrating our local area and working to make it a destination, rather than somewhere you drive through to get somewhere else. I want to create beer, and a brewery we can all be proud to call 'ours'.

So far the tap room has become a community hub, and the beers have been awarded silver and gold medals at beer awards across the country. We are focused on creating products that defy what most people expect from 'craft' beers. Drinkable but full of flavour, I'm proud that we can always find something you'll enjopy from our tap list (even if you usually "only" drink one brand of beer). 

We've supported local artists, bands by providing a small venue with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and community groups with donations. We've even made a sporting group their very own beer. 

We've been able to grow in spite of the market being dominated by multi-nationals, and without any wealthy benefactors tipping in money for fancy equipment and marketing. 

We've done it the hard way. Physically and financially.

So, I'm asking for your help so that The Social Brewers can continue to create and serve more products we can all be proud of. 

The Beers (well, some of them).

• Striders Session Ale (4.5%) - An Aussie Pale Ale inspired by the Peaky Striders, who you'll often see walking the streets. Silver Medal 2024 AIBA & 2024 RQBA
• Forest Road IPA (5.8%) - English IPA meets classic American hops. Smooth as the bitumen on its namesake. Gold Medal 2023 RQBA & Silver Medal 2024 AIBA
• LagerNo (3.7%) - Simplicty personified. Named as a reflection on a simpler time when you had to wait for a punt to cross over to 'The Shire'.
• Broken Bat Dark Mild (3.3%) - Huge flavour in a mid strength dark beer honouring The Don, who played his first grade cricket at Hurstville Oval. Gold Medal 2023 RQBA.

These are just a few of the local legends regularly on tap. We've produced more than 50 unique beers in just over 2 years. 

The Plan.

I want to take what we've created in Mortdale and get our beers poured in every pub, club, bar and bistro across St George. Over time I want to level up our hospitality offering both at the tap room and by establishing venues in key locations across the area.

To do that we need to streamline our production process (making them safer and less manual) and push our beer to more local venues. We'll continue to have a presence at the major festivals and share Great Beer at local markets.

Ultimately we'll use the money to free up capital to allow us to make strategic equipment investments, improve profitability and give us a platform to continue to grow.

After we deliver your fantastic rewards, we'll pay off debt and free up capital to invest in new equipment, allowing me to spend more time on sales. This will position us to put future profits back into tap room improvements and exploring new venues for us to operate.

1. $30,000 (minimum) allows us to pay off some debt and buy a new grain mill

2.  $50,000 (stretch) allows us to do the minimum and purchase lifting equipment

3.  $75,000 (sold out) allows us to do the stretch and purhase a small canning line!
