We’re campaigning for marriage equality the best way we know how – by putting our pro-love beer in bars and homes across Australia. 

Love is love – no matter what your gender, race or orientation may be, every single person should be able to marry whoever they want to. It’s a basic human right. But at this very moment in Australia, not everyone is granted this right. 

If you haven’t met us before, we’re Rainbow – a small collective dedicated to brewing the best craft beer Australia has to offer. We’ve had our drop on tap in Brisbane’s West End since 2011, satisfying the thirst of thousands of locals, visitors and strangers alike – contributing to and being supported by a diverse and wonderful community. 

Rainbow beer is a crisp, German-style pilsner that we've been brewing for the past six years and we haven’t met anyone who doesn’t rate it. We started brewing Rainbow because it felt good, because it tasted good and because we wanted to do good. 

Whilst our hand-painted rainbow logo represents inclusion and love, it seems that symbol is no longer loud enough. 

That’s why, as we've decided to expand beyond a humble watering hole – we’ve also decided to get a lot louder with our brand message, making sure our community and beyond knows what we stand for and why. Since inception, we’ve been brewing a few kegs per week – keeping it simple, keeping it local. 

By launching a Pozible campaign we’ll be able to put Rainbow into bigger-scale production, offering cartons and wholesale orders for bars around Australia. You’ll be able to get Rainbow for your home, for your friends or get your local beer house to put it on tap – and drink together, knowing we’re all toasting to a brighter, more colourful and inclusive future. 

Once we reach our Pozible goal, 50% of all profits from the Rainbow beer we sell will go directly towards supporting initiatives run by Australian Marriage Equality. Through lobbying, advocacy and education, they’re leading the fight for the LBGTQI community. 

So we’re asking you to literally put your money where your mouth is – and drink beer that’s not only pro-love but also made with love. 

The time to act was ages ago.

About the beer 

Rainbow is a crisp, easy-to-drink craft lager. Based on a traditional German pilsner with the addition of galaxy hops, this creates a perfect balance between subtle fruit flavours and aromas, with a mild yet bitter and dry finish.

Rainbow beer is brewed at 4.5% alcohol and 1.3 standard drinks. This beer is for persons over the age of 18.

We have launched this campaign as an exclusive pre-sale event with a message of love and commitment to equality.

Once we successfully reach our goal of 100K, these funds will be used to brew our beloved Rainbow on a larger scale. The pledges will cover beer production and canning as well as packaging and distribution. This allows for us to offer a packaged product and also invite more bars to pour our delicious beer.

A major challenge with this project is that Rainbow is a small, independent beer collective, just as so many great Australian craft-beer makers are. This is the biggest brew we’ve attempted yet, and if we don’t reach our target, we won’t be able to expand and get the message out. We’re a little collective, working for a big cause. 

Whilst not technically a challenge, it’s important to note that Rainbow is driven by Nick, Tim and Ben – three heterosexual males who are fed-up with this governments inaction. They have witnessed their colleagues, friends, family and loved ones suffer enough. Rainbow doesn’t speak for the LGBTQI community, but we fully support its members. The work of Marriage Equality Australia reflects the core of our brand message and we’re committed to doing as much as possible to aid their fight.

1.  You acknowledge that when you make a pledge with us you are appointing us to act as your agent for the purpose of placing an order for liquor with the licensee at the licensed premises.  

2.  We do not act as the agent of the licensee, and do not receive orders for liquor on behalf of the licensee.

3.  If the target is reached, the following will apply:

(a)  We will place an order with the licensee at the licensed premises on your behalf in accordance with the terms of your pledge.

(b)  Notwithstanding that in the course of the conduct of this campaign we have invited offers to purchase liquor, you acknowledge that no order has been placed until we do so on your behalf with the licensee at the licensed premises.   

(c)  Accordingly we are not inviting an offer to purchase liquor by way of an order taken or received elsewhere than at the licensed premises.
