Yo! We're a team of 4 king gizzard fans.

On the 14th of November, as we all know, King Gizz announced they would be releasing their 12th studio album, 'Polygondwanaland', into the public domain. They provided fans with mastered WAV files, artwork, and free license to distribute. We've decided to get the album pressed locally (in australia) for local fans, so we can all enjoy these glorious tracks on everyone's favourite format, vinyl.

After a vote in the King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Fan Page, this 'Split Red and Blue with White splatter' (or the 'Loyalty' edition) coloured pressing was decided upon. The actual product will definitely vary in the shades of blue and red from the image shown, but it will still be hella cool.

This product will come in a black paper sleeve and a full colour cardboard outer jacket, just like all the wax you own.

The wax itself is 180 gram (heavier than standard, so it is less likely to warp and it has the possibility to sound better). 

This is being 'officially' released on to Deliquesce Records (that's us) in Geelong, Victoria, with a couple of copies made being available in a few geelong/brissy record stores.

This record is being pressed in Melbourne by Zenith Records (http://www.zenithrecords.org/), and DROPPED in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane meetups. The locations and times of these drops will be confirmed after the goal has been reached. YOU will have to sort how YOU will get your record. Since we are doing this out of our own goodwill, we cannot afford to deal with the hassels of individually shipping 300 records. 

Zenith records, Melbourne

Since we know that we will get many complaints about not shipping this record, we are splitting the load and only shipping 50 within Australia. We ask that you DO NOT take this option if it IS POSSIBLE for you to attend a meetup. It simply isn't fair to those fans who actually cannot make a meet-up.

In taking this route we are ensuring we minimise our costs as a group, and what you pay as a fan. 

It also means you get to meet up and chat about gizz with likeminded, devoted fans!!

We are using Pozible as it offers a great ordering system and it means we dont have to go out of pocket at any stage. You pledge, we put in the order, you recieve. It works well.

We will keep you updated with test pressings and the like, as well as drop times, places etc. via a private facebook group.

Once we reach the goal and recieve pledges for the 250 units we will immediately place an order with Zenith to start production of the test pressings. Once we recieve this (2-3 weeks after the order) and we are satisfied with its quality and sound (we will upload a video for you guys) final production will start. It is estimated, at the time of writing this, that we will recieve the records in late January. We will keep you updated. From there (we will already have had drop times and places organised) we will ship out the Sydney and Brisbane drops and the meet ups will commence (Hamish, a member of our team, will run the melbourne meet up and James, another member, will run the meet-up in brisbane.)Ollie, a gizz fan, is going to run the Perth drop. 

Upon making your contribution you will HAVE to choose a drop location, and provide the full legal name of yourself (or someone getting you record on behalf of you) so we can identify you. Also keep your order confirmation email safe! we will need that to validate your purchase on the meetup day. Also provide the email associated with your facebook account, so we can invite you into the private facebook group.

The cost of pressing these records is $4000 through Zenith records. Each record then comes to $16 per unit (250 units for sale). To keep numbers simple and account for shipping to drop locations, and for any mishaps and screw ups, we are making the price of each vinyl $25, This extra cost also compensates for volunteers, and it also takes into account the rather large payment processing fees from paypal and banks, Pozible fees and the like. Thus, our goal for this campaign is $6250 (250x$25). Per unit, this is a fantastic price (compared to all past flightless pressings and other Polygondwanaland USA pressing groups/labels), which we've made possible to stop ya wallets getting killed by the lizard wizard.. The goal covers this total (x300), fees, compensation and shipping, with ALL EXTRA PROCEEDS BEING DONATED TO:

which is a a volunteer organisation that rescues and rehabilitates aussie wildlife across the country. In true spirit of the lizard wizard and not making a profit, we will donate half any excess to this organisation.

which is an organisiation running in melbourne to help end youth homelessness. The other half of any excess will go to here.

50 copies will be kept back from sale, in anticipation of screw ups/breakages and as gifts for the band, with the remainder of these copies being sold in local geelong/melbourne/brisbane record stores.

The potential challenges we could face are:

• Pressing delays with Zenith
• Ordering difficulties/confusions due to Pozible
• Not meeting the goal (ie: the campaign is unsuccsessful. You all get your money back, so there is no risk)
• The pressing looking slightly different from the image we've designed

The first two of these challenges are out of our control and are unlikely to happen.

The third relies on you, the fans, to support us and this great music, and have faith in us, the team.

In regards to the fourth issue, the nature of vinyl pressing means that we can never exactly replicate colours and exact patterns, but the wax will look dope either way. It shouldn't really be an issue issue. The centre label design will DEFINITELY change, as KGALW are dropping more artwork on friday. We will update this and post this change to the group, as well as the back cover we have designed.

The last issue that could be had will lie in the meetup system, but with dedicated fans running the drops and clear, concise details from us, as well as cooperation from you guys, this system should pose no problem to the success of the campaign.

We are more than wiling to put hours of time and our best efforts into this. We have full faith that it will succeed. All we need is your support to get the pressings going.
