Grounded in our rich heritage, the Wagga Rail Trail will be a gift for future generations.

Creating a healthy, sustainable and connected community, this trail will make Wagga Wagga a more vibrant and liveable city.

It will offer an unparalleled experience for our visitors as they explore the trail and discover what this region has to offer.

The Wagga Rail Trail will be a 21km sealed, shared recreation path connecting Wagga Wagga CBD with Ladysmith.

Safe and traffic free, this is a trail everyone can enjoy.

But, the Wagga Rail Trail is not just about a walking or cycling track. It’s about our physical and mental health; it’s about visitors and tourism; it’s about creating a tangible legacy for future generations.

Most importantly it’s about the future of OUR city.

About Us

Wagga Rail Trail Incorporated is a not for profit organisation that is managed by a committee of passionate, connected and deeply determined local people who share a common understanding of what we want for our community in the future. 

We have worked hard to create a shared vision for the Wagga Rail Trail and are incredibly passionate about together, making the project happen.

To bring the trail to life we first need a plan!

It costs upwards of $60,000 to develop a design plan of this nature and, while we have already raised some of the funds required, we need your support to make it happen.

The plan will create a comprehensive trail design and determine costs to build and maintain. It will also include management, maintenance and emergency services plans and a detailed analysis of users and benefits to the community; all which will be required to gain the necessary development approvals and attract the investment needed to build it.·         

Our trail designer will work sensitively and respectfully with trail neighbours, Council, government agencies and user groups to design a world class trail experience. When the State Government passes legislation enabling trails in NSW, we aim to be ready. With your support we’ll have a design plan and a strong business case for the investment needed to build this trail.

96% of the money that you pledge goes directly to supporting the trail. A 4% fee is deducted by Pozible.

Wagga Rail Trail Inc. is a not for profit community organisation and the small amount of money we raise through memberships goes into building awareness and support for the trail. So, we don't have the necessary funds to finance the design plan that's required to gain development approval and capital to build the trail.

The legislative process required to enable trail development in NSW could happen anytime, and when it does happen we need to be ready with a strong design plan and business case. The core challenge ahead is to design a trail that offers a world class experience for local residents and visitors and also meets landholder views and needs.

This is a complex process and one that requires an approach of listening, respecting and collaborating. We need Australia's best trail designer to ensure we deliver a trail that's the very best for everyone in our community.
