LiveWires Christmas Fundraiser 2017
Our campaign's mission is to give children a month of Christmas and holiday activities!
Concern Australia, a not-for-profit organisation, runs a cost-free after hours and holiday care program called 'LiveWires'. LiveWires provides expressive arts, sport and recreational games, cooking and baking classes for primary school aged children living in public housing.
We provide hope and care for young people and children who experience disadvantage and are at-risk. Children who attend come from different cultural backgrounds and many are refugees.
Our program aims to give each child a safe, fun and enriching environment to help them feel safe, improve their education, learn important life skills and build up their confidence and trust. We have been running for over 12 years and have strong relationships with our local community.
We do not receive any government funding and our program is run predominately by volunteers. We rely on grants, philanthropic trusts and donations, from wonderful people like yourself, to continue to provide care for each unique child.
Christmas for Collingwood Children
We hope to raise $7,000 for a month of Christmas and a week of summer holiday fun. A pledge/donation of:
- $10 will provide a child with art supplies for holiday fun
- $25 will provide a child with a special Christmas gift
- $50 will provide a child with a Christmas party, a gift and a holiday excursion
- $100 will provide a child with a Christmas party, gift, scholarship award and school holiday excursions
- $125 will provide a child with a whole month of Christmas fun and school holiday excursions
We believe each child deserves to feel joy this Christmas and to know how much we (you included!) value, support and care for them.
In return for your generosity
The children have created some wonderful masterpieces that they would like to share with you! We need to reach our target of $7000, otherwise, you will not receive your reward.
How about a special gift for that special someone or a reward for yourself for being so kind? You'll get that warm feeling knowing you're gift has brought joy to a child this Christmas.
If you give the following amount you will be rewarded with:
- $25 - a Public Thank You
- $50 - a book created by the LiveWires children
- $100 - two books created by the LiveWires children and a personal Christmas card
- $200 - an invitation to visit the LiveWires Holiday Program and be thanked personally by the children.
$500 - a child's framed artwork - $1000 - the LiveWires children’s canvas paintings
- $2000 - a painting, a book, a card, a public thank you
Budget Overview
Our target of $7000 will create a fantastic month of fun that includes:
Potential Challenges
LiveWires does not receive any Federal Government funding which means that each year LiveWires relies on donations and grants to be able to run. This is challenging and it is through wonderful donors and supporters that we have been able to be continue for the last 12 years.
Applying for grants is time-consuming and they often come with strict instructions on how they money must be spent. Many other local organisations and programs in the local area have recently shut down due to a lack of funding and we don’t want to be next!
No Reward
I choose to have no reward for my pledge.
