WHO AM I?

Hi there! I’m Sophie Klein AKA Little Wise - an artist and songwriter from Melbourne, Australia.

In 2016 I released my debut full-length album ‘Silver Birch’ - an emotional and personal album that connected with many of you. The record was made possible through crowdfunding and through a grant from Creative Partnerships Australia.

In 2017 I released the single ‘100 Degrees’, which showcased an entirely different side of Little Wise.

Whether I’m quietly strumming an acoustic guitar or rocking out with the band, the aim is to leave listeners feeling more alive and heart-achingly human than before, bringing awareness to our own humanity and opening our hearts.

WHAT DO I WANT TO DO?

This year, I have begun to record my second full length album. I have a new batch of songs and have reached a new maturity in my writing. This record will be fun and more upbeat, yet still retaining that emotive quality that was on ‘Silver Birch’. I have been road-testing some of these songs in the live environment and I’m really excited to bring them to life in the studio.

The aim is to make something authentic and full of soul. This will not be a ‘run of the mill’ album.

I am also hoping this album will bring about new outcomes and opportunities for me in both the short and long term. I have plans in place to ensure the work helps me connect with new audiences, other artists and the greater music industry.

HOW AM I GOING TO DO IT?

The core band in the studio is made up of myself (vocals, guitar), Rosie Burgess (bass, backing vocals) and Pam Zaharias (drums). I have been playing with these guys for the past couple of years so it’s great to be finally capturing some of the magic from our live show in the studio environment. It’s also great to be making the record with some of my best friends in the world.

We are tracking and mixing the album at The Aviary Recording Studio in Abbotsford, with Fraser Montgomery and Nick Edin engineering and producing. John Ruberto (Mastersound) will master the tracks.

We are also working with filmmaker Agostino Soldati to create behind the scenes video content to document the project.

WHAT PART CAN YOU PLAY?

If you believe in this work, choose from the list of rewards and make a pledge. Remember- this is not a donation. Every sum has a corresponding pre-order item and every pledge over $15 will receive a digital download of the album before the official release date!

Think of it this way - instead of having a record label providing the upfront capital to make the album, YOU are actually my record label.

I am grateful to have already received funding from Creative Victoria for marketing and video content. Creating an album, however, is a costly exercise and we require another push to get us over the line.

The Pozible platform is ‘all or nothing’ - i.e. I only receive the funding if and when I reach my target amount.
