My name’s Joshua Batten and I’m an independent singer, songwriter and guitar player.

I’ve been passionate about music since I was a kid, and now at age 23 that passion is blossoming into a career.

I released my debut mini-album “Searching For Answers” in April last year, and since then I’ve opened for Russell Morris twice, shared a bill with Chris Wilson, Geoff Achison and Charlie A’Court at the Bruthen Blues & Arts Festival, and last month I was a semi-finalist in the Melbourne Blues Challenge as well as a performer at the Echuca-Moama Winter Blues Festival.

My next album will be my first full-length release, containing 10 new songs. Some of these songs have been played at recent gigs, while others are being tweaked in the studio until they sound just right. I’m also hoping to release a double A-side single containing reworked versions of two songs from my very first demo back in 2014.

This is my first crowdfunding campaign, and I’ve set it up to hopefully cover at least one third of the overall cost of getting this album out to the masses, which includes;
- Production and mixing by Sean O’Sullivan (who worked with me on Searching For Answers)
- Mastering by Crystal Mastering (Russell Morris, Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard)
- New photography and artwork (Artist TBC)
- CD Pressing from Implant Media (Industry standard jewel cases)
- Publicity and Promotion
- Music videos for YouTube

I wouldn’t ask for your donations without offering something in return, so there are a number of rewards included with the various price tiers, including;

- Handwritten lyrics for one of the songs from either of my two albums (your choice of song)

My initial target has been set at $5000, but Pozible campaigns are all or nothing. If I don’t reach my financial goal in the allotted timeframe, I won’t receive any of your generous pledges, so please help by spreading the word about this album and the campaign with your friends and family!
