Who is Jimmy?

Jimmy is a 19-year old, moody teenager, who lives with his mentally unstable and abusive father, Jack. Jimmy is faced with the decision to either follow his dreams of living the life he has always dreamed of, or stay with his toxic father and become a man he is not proud of

Why Jimmy Specifically?

Other than film inspirations, such as Chopper and Treasure Planet, Jimmy is largely inspired by my own traumatic life experiences and unfortunate situations that I have found myself in over the course of my entire life. This film is a small exaggerated snippet of my childhood and the demons I have had to face over the years, and therefore, a story I believe I have to tell

John Irwin - Writer & Director

My name is John irwin this is my first film as a director. The story holds a special place in my heart! My intentions for this film is to make the audience feel uncomfortable and wanting to look away but making them not, similar to Once We're Warriors. I hope you have an interesting experience with this film

Tess Stewart - Producer

Tess Stewart is the Producer of Jimmy, Tess studies Film and Television at JMC Academy with a passion for unique stories Tess is extremely excited to Be working on ‘Jimmy’. Her previous producing work includes ‘Snake’ and ‘Love You Goodbye’. Tess is a driven producer excited to be a part of the talented team of ‘Jimmy’

Joseph Cockerill - Director of Photography

Besides my love for film-making, I play Larp! In the industry I love editing & cinematography. I recently finished sound designing a short film that premiered at the Gold Coast Film Festival! I’m an energetic person who loves to create films and coming up with ideas and looks for scenes using camera and lighting. I can’t wait to work on John's film Jimmy's Story!

Stacey Stafford - Assistant Director

Stacey is an emerging filmmaker, who is currently only beginning her filmmaking journey at JMC Academy. “Creatively thinking and creatively making has always been a dream of mine that has been repressed for too long. I want to be on my feet, so that’s why I jumped at the opportunity to flip my ‘normal’ way of thinking and join the creative side.” Jimmy will be Stacey’s first official project as a professional filmmaker, and a collaboration piece with her fiancé, John Irwin.

Emily Bolte - Production Designer

My name is Emily Bolte; I’m a Production Designer and currently studying at JMC. Production Design, Costumes, and Props are the areas I work in within the Art Department. I am passionate and driven about my work, and I am excited to be working on Jimmy as a Production Designer

Nayth Marshall - Sound

Hi, I’m Nayth!  I've been studying Film and TV at JMC since June 2020 and couldn't be more excited to be a part of Jimmy. Coming from a professional musical background I've always had a love for working with sound to help create a feeling, and I can't wait to share that experience with this amazing crew in order to tell such a fantastic story. I look forward to seeing the product of all our hard work and sharing it with the world!
