My brother, Ford, died days before he was due to start his final year of school at Ballarat Grammar. I struggle to make sense of how I walked away from the accident and while he didn't. The only thing that does make sense is to honor his memory in any way I can.

Both him and I were lucky to go to a school that offered opportunity we wouldn't have received at a local school. 

Our family set up a scholarship fund in his memory, in the hope that it would help country kids to get a good education. 

I am running a marathon in support of the Ford Guthrie Boarding Scholarship, to honor the legacy of my brother, Ford. With many months of prep and support, I'm currently undertaking the final stretch of training.

Soon I'll be running my first (and probably only) marathon to support the Ford Guthrie Scholarship.

The Ford Guthrie Boarding Scholarship was created in memory of Ford Guthrie, who tragically passed away in January 2017. Initiated by his parents, Sarah and Tom, along with his sister, Polly, the scholarship is a perpetual commitment supported by the Guthrie family and the wider Ballarat Grammar community. This enduring scholarship provides deserving students with the opportunity to experience and contribute to the boarding life that Ford cherished and greatly enriched during his time at Ballarat Grammar.
