Celebrating the wine, beer & spirits of the Fleurieu Peninsula

Soul Publishing’s first book Faces and Food of the Fleurieu – which showcased the produce and people of this stunning part of South Australia – has been a runaway success. 

Now, the Soul Publishing team is back with its second book in the series, Wine, Beer & Spirits of the Fleurieu, featuring 50 of the most-loved wineries, breweries, distilleries and accommodation in the region, showcased in a 200+ page hardcover book. 

The two books go hand in hand – both high quality productions with a unique design, beautiful stories, mouth-watering pairings and stunning photography. 

About Soul Publishing

Soul Publishing is a leading independent publishing house, established in 2017 by Rojina McDonald, with a vision to produce high quality books showcasing the food, wine and faces of Australia – region by region.

The purpose of our Soul collection is to support local businesses, drive tourism and promote regional products through the stories of the region’s food and wine producers.

Since the launch of our first book in October 2018, we have hosted book signings throughout the region. The book can be found in bookshops and with other stockists across Adelaide and regional South Australia, and it has been shipped interstate and overseas to places such as Dubai, USA, EUR and the UK.

Rojina has been invited to speak at numerous events, including as keynote speaker for Le Cordon Bleu, while the book itself has been given to well-known foodies Ainsley Harriot, Maggie Beer and Nigella Lawson. 

It has been featured in the June and July issues of Wine Selector magazine with a two-page feature in both – plus, Rojina promoted the book and region in an episode of Channel 7’s lifestyle and travel show SA Weekender in July. Watch the episode here.

Further, Soul Publishing has also been nominated as a finalist for South Australian Business Excellence in the 2019 Ausmumpreneur National Awards.

The new book

Featuring the stories of some of the oldest wineries in the region, Wine, Beer & Spirits of the Fleurieu will also feature some of our newest brands including our organic and biodynamic ranges. The aim is to encourage locals and visitors alike to come and enjoy our cellar doors, breweries and distilleries for themselves.

The book is planned for print in September this year, and it will have a retail value of $65.00. Our inaugural print run is scheduled for 5000 copies. Distribution will commence at Christmas time through featured businesses and all of our current stockists. We also plan to promote the publication through book launches across Australia, including our very own Fleurieu launch. Above is a sneak peak version of the cover, however the finished version will be a surprise.

Where is the Fleurieu?

The Fleurieu Peninsula is only 45 minutes from Adelaide, South Australia and represents the southern tourism region including the McLaren Vale wine region, Strathalbyn, Goolwa, Victor Harbor and Yankalilla. We have included many townships of the Fleurieu in this book capturing the beautiful, diverse landscape along the way.

How the funds will be used

The funds raised in this campaign will go towards the printing and distribution of Wine, Beer & Spirits of the Fleurieu, and fees to cover the Pozible campaign.

Why did we choose Pozible again? Without a platform like Pozible, we wouldn't have been able to bring our first book to life. We’re also keen to support a platform such as this, which gives people the chance to bring to life their creative ideas.
