Drinking Buddy is a promotional website & app helping pubs promote their specials to punters. We started operating at the end of 2014 and have since built a venue base of over 50 different pubs & hotels which we advertise for. HOW WE CURRENTLY RUN BEER PONG

For the last 3 months Drinking Buddy has been hosting Beer Pong competitions at several pubs & bars in SA. These events have been extremley succesful, with the venues loving the influx of new patrons & the punters not only having a great time playing, but also being able to WIN great prizes from both us & the venues.

WHY WE WANT TO CREATE A BEER PONG LEAGUE

One thing that we consistantly get asked by players is can we look to create a more formal league as this would add an extra level to our Beer Pong events. We think this would be a great idea as it would then give players the ability to track their results, see where upcoming games are being played and most importantly hold braging rights over their friends. We could also use this to award prizes to monthly winners and create a trophy for the overal winner each year.

The funds will be used to help us in several factors:

* Create a website for the Beer Pong league. This would include showing the results from each game, upcoming games, leaderboards & allow players to register for upcoming games.

* Purchase more Beer Pong tables. This will allow us to be able to host more events at different venues, giving more people the opportunity to take part.

* Purchase more prizes/trophies. Currently we give the winning team of every Beer Pong comp Drinking Buddy Snapback caps, however we want to be able to give away major prizes (such as Beer Pong tables) on a monthly basis and also freebies (such as bottle openers) to everyone who plays.

The above would make up the majority of where our funds would be spent. Any additional funds would be spent on promoting the Beer Pong League to get more players involved.

TOOLS DOWN

We would also look to DONATE 10% of all funds raised to Tools Down.

Tradies are usually sole traders, contractors or running micro-businesses. They often work very long hours and have tight budgets. They are over-represented in all the wrong statistics – depression, suicide and bankruptcies.

Tools Down is about getting tradies together on the first Thursday of the month (Game Day Events) to take some time out, build community, enjoy a meal and hear a speaker and raise funds for Men’s Sheds. It’s about slowing down – just a little – so they can look after themselves and those they love better. It’s hard to feel compassionate and generous when you are always rushing and under the pump.

The main challenge for us is to succeed where others have failed. A few years ago, there was a Beer Pong league that failed despite having good interest from the general public. The issue for them was lack of venues coming on board and supporting the idea.

Luckily for us, most of the challenges they faced we have already overcome. We have a number of venues supporting us in different parts of Adelaide & we have a strong following already for our website & app. Now it is about making the most of what we have in place.
