The time has come for us to make ALBUM TROIS ! 

Dear Baby et Lulu friends and fans!!

We recently went into the studio to lay the foundations for our new album, with all of your favorite Baby et Lulu players; Marcello Maio on keys, Julian Curwin on guitar, Matt Ottignon on woodwind and brass and Mark Harris on double bass. It's just the beginning of a long process we look forward to completing. 

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP and LOVE to do that! 

For those not familiar with crowdfunding, the idea is that you, our community, get on board from the beginning of the process, instead of the end! In a way, you would be pre-purchasing our album! We will give you exclusive updates along the way on the progress of the album. We offer you different tiers of funding, either simply pre-purchasing a digital copy, or a physical CD, or other tempting rewards to partake in!
But it is a bit of a cliff-hanger because, unless we reach our target, we get none of the money pledged and they are returned to the pledgers!

Please will you join us on our road to making and releasing Album Trois ?

TO RECORD AN ALBUM and release it into the world is a huge undertaking. Once our repertoire is carefully written and selected and rehearsed, we hire a world class recording studio (Sony Studios) to lay down the bones of the tracks. We, of course, pay our beautiful musicians, we then pay an engineer to record vocals and all overdubs (extra brass, woodwind, strings, vocals and backing vocals) in a smaller studio, we then have to edit all of that and mix the album. This takes a surprisingly long time with much, much focus and work in the details to bring you what we hope is a more beautiful representation of what we do on stage (without the jokes and swearing in a French accent!). Mastering comes next.

After that part of the production is complete, we need to do artwork for the album, we do a photo shoot (which also takes much time and preparation), and we send off the artwork, with all the credits and licensing information, to be printed. 

Then comes a TOUR and publicity and, god willing, a video clip!! To put a tour together, our awesome booking agents will book the shows, but then Baby et Lulu book the flights, book a 12 seater van in each city (because how else can we fit Lola the double bass in with all of our makeup and band members?) and we book accommodation for all 6 of us. 

In each town we print and distribute posters, we pay a publicist over the course of a few months to help get us some interviews and radio appearances, we advertise on FaceBook and other social and print media .... and well, altogether, this is really quite an endeavour.
