This means we can get started on recording the album straight away.

Its not too late to spread the word tho - we've only hit our minimum target to create the CD - if you can help us raise more money we'll be able to make our album that much better...
-we'll be able to spend more time in the studio recording and mixing the tracks to perfection,
-produce better album packaging on a 4 panel gatefold sleeve,
-provide incentives for our valued recording artists,
-make better use of kiwi sound archives.

Our new target is $2500
Please help us spread the word, and again,
thankyou for helping us get this far!!!!

Kiwi Songs For Kiwi Kids
The soundtrack of your childhood

You remember...
Wearing jandals. Climbing trees. Making play huts in the toi toi bushes.
Riding to school in the rain on your chopper or BMX with spokey dokies clicking in the wheels.
Singing in assembly from the school OHP. Kiwi cricket. Breakdancing.
Buying fireworks. Walking in pairs on school excursions. Fish and chip Fridays.
Endless NZ summers licking Jelly Tips and sharing a 20 cent mixture...
and everything good that comes with growing up a Kiwi Kid!

Kiwi Songs for Kiwi Kids will be the definitive collection of songs from your childhood in both English and Te Reo. An album of classic, fun songs - One Day A Taniwha, Oma Rapeti, Ma Is White, Tutira Mai Nga Iwi and many more. Taking the playground as its setting, the recording will include spoken words in English and Maori - an ideal way to introduce youngsters to our musical and cultural heritage.

The Kiwi Songs for Kiwi Kids project is an international collaboration of homesick NZ-born musicians and performers who live overseas; featuring Pia Midgley - actor and mother to young Hugo (the inspiration for this project), Jason Te Patu - singer (Dave Dobbyn, Annie Crummer) and choreographer (NZ Idol), and Jeremy Brennan - actor (The Holy Roller Movie) and musician (King Casual, Ava Torch); and with original design work by Craig Bunting.

Born out of desperation for some songs to sing to baby Hugo one wet friday afternoon driving across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Pia struck on the idea to buy Hugo a CD of all the favourite songs from her childhood; but nothing was available! So, together with the musical talents of Jason and Jeremy she decided to make her own collection of songs for us all to share.

Your pledge will pay for...
2 days of recording $1000
Mastering $300
CD replication presented in full colour packaging $500

And if you will support us with a pledge of $100 or more we will record your name, or your child's, in the CD ("Kia Ora Hugo").

If you are not in a position to help us financially please help us promote our project; email your friends and family, post our project on Facebooktell everyone!

With your help, we could make this happen!!
