In 2024 Purple Tape have some exciting projects cooking, but we know we need a little help from our community to ensure that great art, by great women and gender diverse artists can make it's way to the spotlight. 

In 2023 we supported 65 artists, 90% of which identify as being female or non-binary. With these artists we developed and staged four new works, toured two shows to Adelaide, hosted a festival of work by entirely women and gender diverse led teams, and began development of two new works the fruits of yet we are soon to see (wink wink).  We did all of this, almost entirely out of our own pockets and resources with only small grants to support here and there. 

OUR 2024 SEASON

PARTY GIRL 

We're taking our award winning production 'Party Girl' back to Adelaide Fringe for the start of an exciting journey that we hope to take global! We need help to get there, and to get this tour de force of a show in front of the larger audiences it deserves. 

YOUR NAME 

We are also bringing a crowd favourite from TAPE OVER out of the basement, with YOUR NAME by Kate Bubalo having it's world premiere season at KXT in June. This fantastic new Australian play about female friendhsip, fanfiction and fingering is fresh of a Griffin Award nomination, and features an incredible all female creative team (Susie Henderson, Claire Hennessy, Hailley Hunt, Shondelle Pratt, Rita Naidu, Lily Hayman, Tyler Fitzpatrick, Kate Bubalo and more!) 

BLUE SKY DREAMING (literally) 

From there we set our sites overseas and (with enough support from this campaign) we hope we just might be able to jet set away to the biggest, baddest Fringe of them all and give Party Girl an Edinburgh birth. 

All of that while we continue to support some developing works in the background (even more exciting announcements to come!) 

With your support, we can continue to highlight the voices of Non Binary and Female artists, and shake up not just Sydney's theatre scene - but the whole world's!! 

What will your donation be used for?

All the money raised from this campaign goes directly to supporting the artists we work with. We believe passionately in giving people the space to create great art, without placing them at financial risk. Your donations go towards paying our artists, building our sets, and keeping Lily and Tyler from paying out of pocket for big expenses like Venue Hires for our shows.

The rundown of our funding goals are: 

Primary Goal: $3,000

Our primary fundraising goal allows us to pay all our confirmed artists for 2024 an honorarium fee - ensuring that no one is working for "opportunity." It will also contibrute to making some of the magical designs we have in store a reality. 

Stretch Goal: $5,000 

With our first stretch goal we can do everything above but with an increase to everyone's fees, AND we can cover venue hire for our season of Party Girl! 

The 'WOW our community are so good to us' Goal: $7,000

If we can hit this goal we can pay every single artist we work with in 2024 an even larger fee (there's a theme here, artists first!), build our dream set for Your Name, and cover Venue Hire for our KXT season, allowing all box office to be used entirely for artist profit shares! 

The 'this is madness, you guys oh my god!" Goal: $10,000 
Now this is a little crazy. But if we manage to hit this goal, we will take Party Girl overseas! 

If we don't reach our first goal, the way Pozible works is that no pledges are taken. So $3,000 is our first and most important target! Without this support, Ty and Lil go out of pocket for a lot of the year and our ability to support extra artists and begin working on new developments is lessened.
