The daily lives of the three staff; their friends and relatives makes for a fascinating and revealing glimpse into the lives of working women in 2015. Serena, Carol and Jessica work in the shop - they’ve had a rough trot over the years in their private lives and find the camaraderie and fun, mixed up with the unpredictability of their working day an antidote for any worries.
The store is owned by a family company and is run by James Jones, and his elderly mother Winsome. Winsome still lives in a flat above the shop in the CBD’s main street where she was born 80 years ago. Serena has fallen on tough times since her marriage ended and she lives with Winsome.
The city’s cosmopolitan and diverse population is showcased in this hilarious comedy. There is sexual intrigue, death, love, nudity, extra-marital affairs and more. Set in the above dress shop and cafe/bar next door,
