There are thousands of charities – how do you know which one to support?
How do you know where your money’s going?
I don’t have enough time to find out what’s out there, let alone whether they’re legit.
I’m not a millionaire so how can I make a difference?

THE 10 X 10 SOLUTION

10 x 10 is a scalable platform that provide a unique and social forum for young professionals and creatives to give to emerging charities whose causes resonate with them. It also helps to engender a culture of giving and philanthropy within our communities.

Join us on Thursday 18 June 2015 at a PRIVATE EXCLUSIVE LOCATION never open to the public...!
Located at 262 Liverpool Street, Darlinghurst, NSW 2010
6:30pm - 8:30pm
Drinks & canapés from 6:30pm. Speakers begin promptly at 7:00pm

HOW IT WORKS

1) Each event showcases three emerging local charities, carefully chosen as organisations creating solutions to complex social issues in our communities.
2) Supported by the 10x10 founders, each event is planned and hosted by a fresh committee of 10. Each committee member hosts 10 guests at the event, bringing together over 100 people who each contribute $100 or more, raising $10,000 at least!
3) Each charity has five minutes to pitch in the style of the popular UK television show "The Dragon’s Den" and are then questioned by a special guest Dragon about their cause and business model.
4) The amount you donate through Pozible in advance is turned into vouchers for 'Charity Dollars' in increments of $50. After hearing the pitches, you choose the organisations you most want to support. Many people want to support all three charities so they contribute $150 or more.
5) All costs of each event are covered by event sponsors, to ensure that ALL funds raised on the night go directly to the three charities.

Ronnie Kahn is an Australian social entrepreneur, best known for founding the food rescue charityOzHarvest’; the first perishable food rescue organisation in Australia collecting quality excess food from commercial outlets and delivering it, direct and free of charge, to 600 charities providing much needed assistance to vulnerable men, women and children across the country.

She has been acknowledged as a leader in the fields of entrepreneurship, social impact and innovation. Her contributions have been widely recognised through numerous awards including: Australia's Local Hero, Australian of the Year Awards 2010, Enriched List, American Express 2010, InStyle Woman of Style Award - Community /Charity category 2011, Veuve Clicquot Award Business Woman Tribute Award for Innovation, Entrepreneurial Skill and Contribution to the Community 2012 and Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2012.

THE CHARITIES

10x10 is really excited to be working with three fantastic charities for the event on 18 June 2015:



Orange Sky Laundry is Australia’s first mobile laundry service for the homeless. Founded in July 2014 by friends Lucas Patchett and Nicholas Marchesi, the custom fitted van has been servicing parks and drop-in centres across Brisbane and the wider area with its two industrial washers and dryers. A world-first, Orange Sky’s mission is to improve hygiene standards of the Australian homeless, with an aim to restore their self-respect and reduce strains on social resources. Orange Sky Laundry wants to expand its services Australia wide by the end of 2015.

Offering a unique online platform and e-marketplace which provides a ‘start to finish’ approach in assisting disadvantaged women in Australia to develop an income stream via micro business or social enterprise.

This event is in association with Philanthropy Australia's New Generation of Giving program and inspired by collective giving groups around the world like The Funding Network, The Awesome Foundation, and TiPoint Community.

How The Funds Will Be Used

Your ‘buy-in’ to come along is a donation of $100 or more. You pre-pay this on Pozible, one of Australia’s leading crowdfunding websites, and get a confirmation of your contribution. The pooled funds are held securely by Pozible.

ALL of the pooled funds will then be distributed to the charities based on the tallied up contributions.
